Here is the official trailer of the new season of 24. And yes, it is full of rebooting win...ness.

24 Season 7 Trailer

Alternate link:

As always, mark spoilers as I know some people don't even want to watch ze trailer.

So, I am excited.
Tony is alive and a bad guy! Ooooooh.
And it appears that the cast of the Robocop movies are pretty popular with the writers and casting agents.

Yeah, I'll watch it. Even if it's the same storyline as last years' I'll still watch it.

Well at least they're giving the appearance of changing things up. However the drinking game is going to need some updating.

This show is still going on? Wow, I'm honestly surprised. So anyone care to tell me what the gist of last season's storyline was?

I'd like to think that having my AIM buddy icon set as a picture of Tony Almeida ever since he died made this possible.

This show needs to have stopped when they killed Bauer.

Thumbs down to TV shows that go for too long.

At least they're not in LA. Although, NY is kind of obvious.

watching the trailer now. I am shocked that they are going with the nation being under attack. seems really out of left field for this show.

At least they are going for a new feel.
They had long outlived the incestuous, rebellous, surprisingly lax in its security vetting CTU...

Yay justification of Americans torturing people! Or will he somehow be conflicted this series? Hmmm...

It looks like it was shot differently too. Lighting is different, colour palette is different.

Is it just me, or is that trailer a terrible blend of Die Hard 2 and Die Hard 4?
Air traffic control being taken over?
Breaching some system to allow full control of transportation, power, telecommunication, etc?

Very right-wing, thinks torture is awesometastic.

That said, the show's actual writers have usually done a pretty good job of tiptoeing through the political minefield. Like in the first season, immediately after 9/11, the terrorists were very pointedly not Arab - and the next year the bad guys were oil barons trying to get us to go to war in the Middle East for dubious reasons, et cetera. Year four aside - and I'm not going to complain about one season in six featuring actual Muslim terrorists - the final bosses have usually been white men in penthouses.

Very interesting actually. A little long, but this is a good read.

Trailer thoughts with spoilers from previous seasons:
Agh. No Tony no. You died. Your storyline came to an end. You lost Michelle, you lost your will to live. You had awesome death music. Jack cried. You're dead.

Really, this is just a frustrating precedent for me. I have a long running bet with someone who says that Chappelle is alive, and now with Tony coming back from the dead, who's to say that any of the deaths we've had actually matter?

24 is getting off easy this year because Heroes has been pretty boring so far. But if 24 sucks this season, I'm done.

The following lines from the trailer were dreadful:
"One of the men behind this threat... is someone you know"
"Do whatever it takes - torture him if you have to"

Otherwise, it looked kind of funky, but then that's what trailers are for and the last three seasons were dreadful so I don't hold out much hope.

Theres only one explanation to this trailer...
Hang on Tonys dead! Everyone saw it.. but its Tony... with a goatee... evil mirror universe Tony has found a way into our universe.

I hope the series finale brings back George Mason, but with the exposure to the nuclear bomb hes now the incredible hulk. And Jack has to fight the hulk. You know it would be awesome.
