Wouldn't they be able to add support for USB storage devices with a tiny firmware update?

Hell, why not even add decent support for the SD slot? Those things are useful for more than just storing photos, Nintendo.

It can already read mp3 files off the SD card, but the only game that actually uses this feature is Excite Truck

You can use the SD to listen to your own music in Excite Truck.
So, uh, yeah, that's not much.

The only thing I know is that the PS3 one is supposed to be the worst.

The PS3's tech is in the right direction. Multi-core is already upon us in the PC world, and many-core is almost CERTAIN to be our next step. Unfortunately, console programmers have ALWAYS been pretty crappy in my opinion, because they don't have to deal with any "harsh realities" or program flexible code. I mean, historically, they've been able to program client-side-only, which is massively easier than dealing with a server, they have no concerns about dropped packets or lag because they're always playing on the local machine, they can do hacky things like make bad guys spawn off-camera because they know exactly where the player isn't looking (that's harder to do in multiplayer), all of their customers have exactly the same hardware, so there's never a mysterious "oh fuck this doesn't work on ATI cards" or "what if the customer's gamepad only has 8 buttons instead of 10" issue...basically, they've had it really easy for a really long time. And now that they're being forced to learn multi-core, many of them just aren't up to it. I realize, by the way, that the 360 is not a single-core machine, but going through Microsoft's dev system for threading is really, really old news, whereas the PS3 is much newer and more coding-to-the-system. Ultimately, though, it really shows the need for programmers to do that dreaded thing and get out of the comfort zone to learn new tech.

WiiWare also doesn't really make a lot of sense since the requirements to get into the WiiWare program are the same as the requirements to get licensed to do normal Wii development.

It's basically there so that "AAA" studios can crap out something quick between major projects.

I think that's pretty definitively wrong, especially since Callius is included in that group, and if you consider him "boring," you are doing waaaaayyyy too much coke.

I couldn't really look at something else, as we were being led by Cal, and his leadership, for whatever reason, did seem to revolve around the primate house, which had obviously been conquered by lemurs. Wasn't it also raining outside or something? I am starting to remember it being cold, now that you mention it.
