(I'm asking because I've been trying to find the Crystal Caverns music for the last few weeks, since the "Let's play" started, but I can't think of the proper name or a level that features it.)
It's.. um.. it's the cave music from either DKC 1 or 2. I know it has crystals visible on the parallax background, and it has a repeating section where it sounds like a hammer is striking metal.

Jesus this update is amazing. I sure do hope they do it right though. There needs to be shitpiles of options and pieces. I can't even believe this, the possibilities are staggering.
A flat stage with various levels of small treadmill platforms overhead, stacked and floating in different formations. Bob-ombs on extra high. As the bombs fall down they will hit different treadmills and go through the works to end up falling in random places on the stage where people would be fighting. It will be a pachinko machine of death.

I like Rattle Battle a lot besides the ones already mentioned, but I can't find it anywhere.
Ok, before, I wasn't entertaining those "out of the realm of possibility" ideas, but today proves we're going for broke on awesome.
Besides the rest of the Melee cast, I want to see Waluigi, Ridley, Simon Belmont/someone from Castlevania, Mega Man, and an assist trophy of Bill Rizer from Contra.
Anyway, this announcement both excites and bothers me. We could see some really cool stages out of this.
But know what? There's going to be more godawful crap than anything. I'm really hoping that, at least for the daily downloads, there's some sort of filtering process.
Mega Man Powered Up had a level creator, and most of the stuff that was made was created by the most talentless douchebags the gaming world has ever known. Most of it was no good, literally impossible by design, or just generally no fun.
The vast majority of the time, if you got a good stage, it was good for a reason: it was based off a level that was in another game. 1-1 of Super Mario Bros. got really boring REALLY damn fast.
I'm really hoping that some people with talent manage to rise to the top here, though. There was one MMPU stage that someone made that I felt was nothing short of awesome, completely original. But I say, be prepared for a lot of godawful stuff you'll wish you'd never played to come down the pike.
On a relate note regardin quality control, didn't Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis have some sort of method of keeping people from being total assholes in designing stages?

Like Mega Man Legends? Then check out my story, Legends of the Halcyon Era - An Adventure in the World of Mega Man Legends on TMMN and AO3!

Yeah, it's called "Nintendo will make one of their interns spend 10 minutes in the morning glancing through stages until he sees a decent one."

If only they had some sort of method to vote on things.. Like a voting channel or something....

Unfortunately, the 13 year olds and frat boys outnumber the rest of us, which would lead to entirely too many erectile stages for my taste.
In order to reduce the pain of waiting for a release, I employ a brilliant technique in which I pretend said game does not exist until days before it releases. This was working perfectly, until a friend calls me to tell me about Dedede.
FUCK.
Also, I now have the Dedede boss music from every Kirby game stuck in my mind just from the mere mention of his name.

So, so many updates.
And only one of them needs to be Ganondorf. Then I can sit back, relax, and wait.
Awww, that's it? I wish there were more.

Sakurai you tease! He loves doing this.
Eh.
Staircase?
No..
Ladder is the way to go.
I never asked for this!
Squawk's Shaft is the same as Kannon's Claim, and both are from DKC2.
One question.
Can you create single-player levels like the ones in adventure mode?

Also I'm so making a Bowser's Castle stage, complete with rising Samus lava and Mario Kart racers.
Eh, knowing Nintendo they want to keep the giant wang stages to a minimum.
I don't think I'll need another game for a very long time after this comes out.
It's the same as the Snow Wood theme from EarthBound.
Come on guys, it's awesome.
I was right!
No platforms
Custom-made Final Destination
FUCK.

Track builder in Mario Kart confirmed?
Seriously, though, this is possibly the best update ever.
