THEATRE/PANEL ROOM CLEAR OUT PROCEDURES

Last year we had an issue where people had to clear out after each panel and event in the theatre, therefore missing out on whatever panel was next. I just wanted to clarify what tweaks we implemented for 2005.

After each panel, people that are staying for the next panel CAN, but they will be asked to all shift over to the far side so new people can be seated as quickly as possible. The only exception to this rule is for the following events:

Friday Night Concert
Saturday Night Concert
Final Omegathon Round

For these events the entire theatre must be cleared prior to start, and a line will begin forming a few hours prior to the show start. Keep your ears peeled for announcements over the intercom.

Any questions?

Some guy.

Good, this is a huge improvement over the asstastic method used last year.

Also, is it a different theater than last year's? I recall reading it was bigger, but how much bigger?

Will the enforcers be disbursing any lines that try to form early?

I suspect they'll make the official announcement as soon as the line begins to make itself obvious, so long as that isn't like 18 hours in advance.

Will the omeganauts in round 4 have some kind of priority/saved seating for the sat concert? Since like, you know, they can't be competing in the omegathon and on line at the same time.

I swear, I'm retiring from any game with the word 'Revolution" in the title. I must be the only person who breathed a sigh of relief at not being called for the Omegathon this year.

So...now...if everyone who is inside wants to stay for the next panel...what happens to the people who have been waiting outside?

    They just get fucked?

A few hours prior to the start of the concert? We're expected to wait that long to see a concert that's part of a convention I'm already in? I didn't even wait that long to see the White Stripes the other day and they were the main attraction. You guys go ahead and wait a few hours, I'll hang out and play more video games.

At least they're giving out wristbands to make sure you can get in to it now. Last year, you HAD to wait in line. Now, you just should if you want a great seat.

That's how it goes with a hall that can't hold a lot of people and a convention that draws a lot of people.

    Next year...everything should be fine.

If you had like a yellow pass, could you somehow skip the line? :winky:

The theater is approx 3 times larger. At least thats what I've heard.

I do know - since I just left it - that it did not fill for the Friday concert.
