Kid Pix? What programs would you reccomend to an artistically-inclined 6-year-old?
Just curious how in-touch the AC folk are with childrens' art programs for the PC? My boss's kids (both 6) are those polar-opposite kind of twins. One is athletic while the other shows interest in quiet activities. The quiet one is starting to get artistically-inclined and my boss asked if there was some kind of version of Photoshop for youngsters.
My mind jumped to Kid Pix. I'm fairly sure you can still get versions of it even. Overall though, I thought I'd see if I could get some insight. This kid's not going to be using a tablet and layering tools anytime soon but I'd like to nurture a young artist-in-the-making. Their dad got them a computer for Christmas last year and has made the (very wise) decision not to hook it up to the web, so flash games are out.
Just a piece of software that can last a couple of years is all I'm seeking.
The best program I can recommend is here: Easyartist

I thought this was within the parameters. It seemed it.
I thought AC might like the idea of helping a child explore his digital creativity. I'm sure you would all appreciate it if you had that kind of support and interest taken in your talents when you were children.
edit: then again
The Questions/Discussion Thread
might have been a better choice.
Can I repost in there or have I already become a pariah?
