Sounds about right. I made a friend of mine hate Smeargles, as well.
In the same match, he made me really hate Quick Claws.

Oh damnit. I should have switched to knight man but not even try to wake up, just switch back to let me use t-bolt. then I could have abused sleep clause to get the win.

Good evening, Pokethread. I've been pondering my team, and I'm looking for advice.

Say I'm running Empoleon, Miltank, Starmie, Arcanine, Flygon, and Mismagius. Say further that I'm disappointed in Mismagius and want to axe him. Can anyone think of an attacker who would both pack a punch and fit in well with the others? Is there anything in particular I should worry about countering?
I think I need an offensive type because Arcanine and Flygon are both sort of weak hitters, though Flygon is speedy (gogo Choice Scarf) and Arcanine has a non-STAB priority move. On the other hand, I was toying with the notion of a third bulky annoyer -- Venusaur, maybe, in hopes of drawing Fire moves to power up Arcanine (though so far I have never guessed right on that switch-in).

I suggest Honchkrow to replace Mismagius.
Though, in all honesty, they are both excellent.
I currently have an EV Trained Misdreavus that I'm raising until it gets Pain Split.
It would be a welcome addition to any team.
I haven't really figured out what to do with a Honchkrow, though, other than capture Giratina.

I have fun with Porygon-Zs, but if you go that route, do yourself a favour and try to breed in Hidden Power Fire if you can. The thing can OHKO just about everything its attacks are super-effective to, and Download for Spec Atk just breaks it if you're lucky enough.
I suppose you could throw in an Alakadizzle if you feel like having a Mewtwo that can't take a hit. That, or possibly throw in a Gengar, but I haven't used those too often, so I couldn't tell you what the full potential of that one could be. Possibly an exploder, possibly a sneaky Poison/Psychic/Ghost sweeper, I really can't tell.

Gengar is awesome, triply so if you can get him access to the Emerald move tutors.

I can't, and thus don't yet have a trained Gengar. But then again I'm also very fond of Drifblim and Spiritomb, so I've already got a couple of decent ghost types to call on. Yes a giant blimp can be called 'decent'.

Well, for starters, Magmortar is probably crying somewhere in a corner for not being selected as Fire Man, but that wouldn't really solve anything.

Anyway, for something that is themed after robots, there's a distinct lack of a Steel type. Scizor looks a lot like Cutman or MetalMan. Magnet Man is basically Magnezone, but that leaves a nasty ground weak. Gengar (Shadow Man), Flygon (Toad Man) or Gliscor (Snake Man) are able to solve that.

I dunno, but I bet everything has the potential to be a robot master with enough imagination.

Quite true. I'm just fond of the ones he can get from Emerald. Though the standard set I can probably do easily enough. I just keep finding other Pokemon I like more to try different movesets with.

Magnezone is amazing, considering it's massive special attack and insane amount of resistances. Be warned, though. It absolutely needs a good Hidden Power. Preferably Ice, though Grass is also great (and water can be funny with a Rain Dance/Thunder moveset).

Gengar seems like a good call. What Emerald moves would he use? I don't have Emerald -- I'm just curious. Anyhow, Gengar @ Life Orb Destiny Bond/Shadow Ball/Thunderbolt/Focus Blast? I could use Explosion, but then I'd need Attack EVs probably. I just looked at Smogon and it wants Hidden Power for a Choice Specs, but Smogon always wants Hidden Power.

It's why I want five different Gengars. It's so much more fun to think of something original, but the lack of time prevents me from realizing that. That's why I occasionally go to Smogon to look for interesting stuff people put up for trade, although I'm wary of potential hackers. Still, I've offered one of my breeding projects up for trade and got amazing stuff in return, like Bellyzard which I could never have bred without Emerald. Well, I could, but I'd have to settle with the inferior Fire Fang.

I agree.. heck, I've got three Lucarios, and I'm about to have two Garchomps and two Spiritombs with quite different movesets. Spiritomb in particular I'd like to try out with a different moveset than usual. But first I need a bunch of BP for various items and TMs, so I'll need that Outrage Chomp for the BT.

Speaking of which, Dragonite finally dinged 61. LET THE HIDEOUS BREEDING EXPERIMENTS BEGIN!
