Quick claw on a yanmega? Mm... sounds mostly like a waste past the first turn... But hey, I use brightpowder, so you never know.
Well, this is the Battle Tower we're talking about, so they've got some wierd stuff in there. Didn't even know until I was in the fight that Exploud could learn sunny day/solarbeam (for some reason I thought only grass types and fire types could learn that). And then there was the Ursaring that had Facade but was carrying.. a Sitrus Berry. Facade appeared to be its only attack, too.
I saw a Weavile with Lagging Tail once.
...
WTF?
Seriously? That's one step up from a Shedinja with a Life Orb.
Or a Shedinja that was taught Sandstorm. (It can learn it.. just don't ask me to explain *WHY* it would learn something that would only cause it to die).

That's hilarious! I don't know what's worse, if the life orb on shedinja or the lagging tail on weavile. Probably the lagging tail because it can't survive a hit and Shedinja would at least be able to hit once.
Hmmm...
Aggril, what would you like for the Kabuto Fossil?
A Shieldon, perhaps?
Or a Japanese Palkia(I THINK I still have it...)?
Maybe a Japanese Scyther with hardly any EV's and some Egg moves?
Well, I went ahead and revived all my dome fossils, so I don't have any of the actual fossils any more.. but if you'd like a Kabuto I've got those.
(is 'revived' really right to say for the fossil Pokemon? I mean, you can still hatch them, but if you get them straight off of the fossil, they sure aren't hatched. It still says 'met at '__'' in its info window though.)

Almost makes it sound like they're space food, which that guy is eating and then giving you a random Pokemon for in trade.
...actually, I did wonder how he'd manage to get the thing extracted instantly if I'd just step out of sight...O_o

Doesn't Shedinja get outsped by just about anything?
Seriously, the only good item on Shedinja is Focus Sash.
Hey Chen -- is there any chance I could please have a Totodile as well? I looked at your post in the PokeMart thread, and I have a Damp Rock for you, and I think I could arrange to hatch a Trapinch with Earthquake from my female Flygon, though since it's not technically an Egg Move I think I'd need a second Bug-group with Earthquake to make it pass on (and I don't have one, myself).
Still, Iron Ball may be better. Dunno, I've yet to test out the fun of Fling on anyone (and anyway, Weavile learns Night Slash and Pursuit, both better moves for it, imho).
And Mahnmut, if Chen doesn't have a spare Totodile right now, I can breed one up for you as well.

Oh, I already have a Damp Rock. I wouldn't know what to give Ludicolo with item clause on. I do miss a few resist berries, specifically the Electric and Grass one, but anything's okay really. It's thanks to Aggril I got one anyway, so I'm just glad to spread the love.

Heh, I got those Totodiles from here (actually I got nearly all of my Pokemon that I couldn't get off of just D/P and Ruby from here), so its only fair to keep the trading going.
And anyway I'm not sure about anyone else, but I've almost got 400 Pokemon in my Pokedex, and am running mighty short of space, so in many cases I'm happy with just trading something I can release without having to think too long on it.

A rare candy perhaps? Does anyone know if Pickup works everywhere or does it only work in grassy areas?
I've only seen like 285, but I don't really care about completing the dex.

Pickup happens after battles, so it works in caves as well.
I always thought Pickup worked occasionally after fighting wild Pokemon- at least that's whenever my pickup squad seemed to obtain new items (for some reason they're still fond of repels and escape ropes, but hey at least the shops'll buy those). I never saw them with items when I was just walking around from berry patch to berry patch, or fighting trainer Pokemon.

Don't have one of those. Would you like a PP Up?
Sheesh, I'm even out of Heart Scales. Guess I need to do some wealth-accquisition. Ziggy is next-up after I finish Vertumnus, I think.
So basically I'm gonna have Meowth in my party when I go EV train. Thanks for clarifying it.
Mahnmut, don't sweat it. I gave you a Salac Berry without asking anything in return too. Plus, I'd have to release the Totodiles if you don't accept one since my boxes are getting awfully full.

See, that's probably because you're awesome. Are you available to trade now? Imma give you a Piplup with Yawn, Grass Knot, and Ice beam holding a PP Up -- hopefully better than nothing.

Well, I already got a Piplup with Yawn, Ice Beam and Stealth Rock from Jammers and I don't use PP Ups, so I'd keep them for future trades. I dunno, how about a vitamin? Surely, you must have some.

Yeah, when I EV train (or XP train or anything train for that matter) my party is usually whatever Pokemon is being trained, my Drifblim (my designated flyer), possibly another high level Pokemon if its being Exp. Shared or needs something like surf or rock climb to get to where I'm training, and the rest are my pickup squad. I've got almost 50 candies now, and I've used a few to get certain Pokemon those last few levels to evolving/learning certain moves.

Oh, that's easy. Name a vitamin, any vitamin.
Whatever raises HP, Defense, Special Attack or Speed.

Yup.. my trusty Linoone, Lizzy, a Japanese Ambipom who did not get Technician, and two other non-named Linoones, who will now be joined by the Japanese Meowth RockinX traded me.
Heck, might as well multi task while I'm getting these other Pokemon up to fighting form.
They're not all anywhere near 100, incidentally. Most are around lvl 40-50. Past that I find leveling them to be a major chore. Also Lizzy can also be used to steal items with Covet, such as whenever there's a Cubone swarm about.
Enjoy Pam of the Scranton Branch. I once took two pikachus, male named "Dunder" female named "Mifflin", and bred a bunch of pichus and named them after various characters from the office.

That Meowth is from my Japanese Leaf Green. Take good care of it.
Its name is a katakanised version of Meowth (Miausu).

A whole team dedicated to pickup? Neat idea. I might be able to keep rare candies in stock that way.
So, another random question from a Pokémon newbie. I'm still at the beginning of the game, and a few pokémon have already evolved. I found out from a random townsperson that you can interrupt their evolution right before it happens. Is there any reason why I would want to do that?
For the most part, no. There are a few exceptions -- some pokes can only learn moves at their base stage before you evolve them. The best example is of course with the pokemon you evolve by giving them certain items or whatever -- but its your choice to give them those items in the first place. Pokemon also learn moves at earlier levels if you don't evolve them, but its a tradeoff because the power you gain from evolving is almost always worth it just to put the move off for a couple more levels.
The best specific example is Shroomish -- it evolves into Breloom at level 23, but doesn't learn Spore until 45 and Breloom doesn't learn Spore at all -- so if you want that move (you do, definitely) you have to wait a while. The item-related evolution is just a test of your patience, really. If you have a Murkrow and you want him to be a Honchkrow, you can just give him a duskstone, but be wary that if you don't level to 45 before evolving him he can never learn Sucker Punch, a really great move.
But yeah. For the most part, no. Especially for your first playthrough, its of little consequence.

*Grabs some fossils*
Edit: On a second thought, the lagging tail is worse, as shedinja can only be hit by super effective stuff.
When flung, a stick does more damage than a Lagging Tail.
