So, I sit here next to one of the Mountain Dew Gamer fuel 2-liter bottles as I've been nursing this bottle since yesterday morning around 10am.... I'm planning to drink the rest of it and go to bed tomorrow night at 11pm.... And get a lovely night's rest as I reset my sleep cycle.... But I'm sitting here wondering... Can I drink too much caffeine? There's 48mg of caeffeine for every 8oz... So theres 384mg of caffeine in the bottle...
Wont hurt me right? Cause I'm planning something similar next week.....
"An acute overdose of caffeine, usually in excess of 400 milligrams (more than 3–4 cups of brewed coffee), can result in a state of central nervous system overstimulation called caffeine intoxication. Some people seeking caffeine intoxication resort to insufflation (snorting) of caffeine powder, usually finely crushed caffeine tablets. This induces a faster and more intense reaction. The symptoms of caffeine intoxication are not unlike overdoses of other stimulants. It may include restlessness, nervousness, excitement, insomnia, flushing of the face, increased urination, gastrointestinal disturbance, muscle twitching, a rambling flow of thought and speech, irritability, irregular or rapid heart beat, and psychomotor agitation.[61] In cases of much larger overdoses mania, depression, lapses in judgment, disorientation, loss of social inhibition, delusions, hallucinations, psychosis, rhabdomyolysis, and death may occur."
Why the fuck do you want to drink so much caffeine?

And I already hit one sympton... hehehe...
Hmmm.... Risk heart problems.... Finish the rest of this bottle.... Heart problems... Bottle.... Heart.... Inch high of liquid.... I've ingested nearly 350mg worth of caffeine in a 24 hour period.... I shoul dbe fine... Right? I can finish the bottle and be fine... Just as long as I don't start the next one....
If you cannot be swayed to not drink it because of the stupid amount of caffeine it contains, try not drinking it because of the massive amount of sugar it contains. Binging on anything is a bad idea, but binging on something already as terrifyingly bad for you as soda is exponentially more dumb.
Yea I agree, you probably shouldn't make a habit out of it. Both caffeine and sugars should probably be ingested at moderate levels. I'm not 100% on this, but from what I recall from my physio class, intaking too much sugar like that over long periods of time can lead to your insulin receptors becoming less effective. One of insulin's response is to help tell your cells to uptake the sugar and to store it for future use in the form of glycogen. Overactivity and eventual desensitzation (sp?) of the receptors can lead to high blood sugar levels and type 2 diabetes, which nobody wants.

Why not indeed, you're clearly already an idiot. A little more damage probably won't make any observable difference.
Look, you're only going to fuck up your kidneys and your head and give yourself a freakin' anxiety attack. Which means you're going to be a pain in the ass to everyone around you. Plus, caffeine loses its effectiveness if you get too much too often, so there's really no point in upping your resistance for no good reason. You'll just wind up spending a lot more money on crap than you need to.

Agreed.
I don't understand these people that drink all of this soda (we canucks just call it pop). I feel disgusting if I drink one pop in the course of a week. When I hear of these people who consume multiple bottles in a day it completely blows my mind. Welcome to diabetes.
So, for added entertainment I went to bed around 4ish last night, and woke up around 5ish feeling like my heart was going in explode, my pulse was fine but it honestly felt like my heart was going to just go boom... And then I spent about an hour or so twitching and shaking, and generally freaking out.....

So I guess you answered your original post then, right?
When I was a security guard I had to answer medical emergencies, a technician stayed out one night partying and drank a whole bunch of full throttle (sp). He wound up in the ER because he drank the entire can within a 3 minute window. His pulse was fine but his BP was over 200 (give or take, it was over a year ago). I humbly suggest that you stop being stupid by testing your body's caffeine limit unless you want the same fate.
I stayed up all night drinking Diet Mountain Dew this summer. I was editing some video and just kept pounding cans of it. I went through probably 15 in 8 hours. I fell asleep at about 8am, woke up at 10am writhing in pain. My head was pounding, I was drenched in sweat but shivering, and my stomach felt like someone was stabbing me over and over. I crawled down the stairs because I was too dizzy to walk. I laid in the bathroom for about an hour before it subsided. I checked my temperature and had a fever of 102.5 F.
Moral of the story? Don't fuck with too much caffeine.
Downing that much high-fructose corn syrup is going to fuck you up. Downing that much caffeine is going to fuck you up. But if you don't give a shit, why are you making a goddamn thread?

You're more at danger of hurting your kidneys than anything else, really.
