I've been meaning to pick this up but when I actually thought to check the system requirements the recommended spec is a bit.. much.. (to me anyway!) they recommend an AMD X2 5600+ processor, or Core Duo 2.
Can anyone whos played this hazard a guess at how well it would run on an AMD X2 4600 and a Nvidia 7600GT? I see theres mention about crazy load times, but I could probably live with that but if it looks/runs like ass.. thats a different story.
If I set the lighting to max the game gets extremly blurry. Does anyone elve have this problem?
Is there a fix/workaround or do I have to turn down the settings?
It is Polish. The link at the bottom goes to the Polish language section of their forum.
Polish, sorry.
Having 'flu shortcircuits brain pathways, I definitely did know that.
Anyway, I was just wondering if all of the newsletters went out in only Polish, or if they offered any translations as well, I'd give just about any other option a shot :P

...stupid question, but saves from the older version will still function, right? I got to chapter 3 like a month ago and now would be a perfect time to resume my Witching. Witchering. Witchingeringer... whatever.
The load times were the only thing that I felt was a serious problem in this game. Ok yeah the inventory is a bit wobbly. But this was a really good game that was really hurting with those loads.
Glad to hear it's getting better. Alas I have already finished it and doubt I'll head through for a second run real soon. Too much other gaming to do right now.

I know how you feel. Those bastards waited till today, and last night I got Orange Box. So now I have to finish Psychonauts, Tomb Raider: Legend, Aquaria, play through this again, play HL2 again, then do Episodes 1 and 2, and then Portal and TF2 once they finish downloading. I don't know where to start anymore. =(
Totally came out of left field and surprised the fuck out of me.
Im not kidding, literally the first I heard of this game was on The Brodeo after it was released. Where did this come from? Its so cool.
Its like a triple A game but without all the baggage. No developer reputation, no nitpicking over every minute detail. Its got a bunch of 7s and 8s in reviews and I just dont care. Its fucking the witcher. so good.
Nice to hear about the patch! As many have said, the load times are the one major thing that drags the game down a little bit. This has been perfect for the RPG need I had after finishing Mass Effect.

Just before you get a nasty surprise: the first time an area loads is still pretty long. It's the enter-house-and-come-out-again situation that has been solved.
I've hit something thats stopped me from playing this pretty much completely..the trees and shrubberies have these masses of white-artifact dots all over them that drive me crazy. Changing drivers does nothing, reinstalling, nothing, crying? nothing. And its not my videocard overheating so i'm out of ideas
google has shown me they are the same white dots as in the bottom of these pictures http://www.kraytracing.com/index.php?subpage=4&info=1 i've also found other people who get them in the witcher..and apparently its a rendering problem with no known fix..wooo

Which in my opinion was the major situation to begin with. It seriously discouraged me from exploring houses knowing it'd take me forever to get back out into the main area.

I got stuck into Crysis, so this is next.
Here is a link to the newsletter in English:

and help would be appreciated.
hurr hurr hurr.
But seriousely, whenever I see a good looking polygon based object all I can think about is "When can I hit that?"
Its frustrating when I can't do it within 10 minutes...
WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME?

LOADING TIMES HALVED OH GOD YES
Oh, that's good news. I'm glad I'm only as far in as the Chapter 2 intro.
Hurrah! Anybody have a link to a mirror?
Woo-hoo patch!

Anyway, yeah, they will function- I'm in the exactly same situation as you, Ed.

Same here.
The people on the forums told me to redownload.

Cool. So when will the developer move their hq to Britain then?

And here I was being a good boy, downloading from the official site.
Why aren't all PC games on Steam? I don't have patience for this bullshit anymore.
Now, to see if the load/save times have really improved...
Of course I'm only up to doing Odo's chore.
4gb of fully utilised RAM ftw

Start with Portal. It's short and excellant.
