So having never played BW, this game looked really interesting. It also seems to have flown under the radar as it was release yesterday. Anyone own and care to comment?
Oddly no online reviews up at this time. IGN got their copy on the 26th it looks like, so perhaps reviews are coming very soon.

I beat the game Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. It's right behind Prime 3 on my list of Wii favorites for 2007 (Galaxy will bump it down, I'm sure).
It looks great, controls well, is a lot of fun... sure it's a tad short. But that's the only knock I could make on it.
So, no, don't worry about the game's quality. DO worry that Nintendo didn't feel the need to push this game harder
Nintendo's just taking a very strange, spartan approach to marketing titles lately. They don't do the big hype in the run up to the game's release; they prefer to have commercials running when the game's actually available. Hell, we're not even seeing Mario Galaxy commercials and that's only a few weeks away.
I'm somewhat intrigued by the game but I'm not typically an RTS-type fan and it's really falling victim to the Q4 Crush. I'll consider it if it gets good buzz and I can find it for cheap in '08.
Man, this game is pretty. Doesn't hurt that I love the style, either. I wish I could see a review or two, but I'll probably rent before I buy anyway since I universally suck at any game that has even the lightest hint of real time strategy.
I did want to offer a little something from the Vs. Mode cultural critic side of my brain: I sensed echoes in the campaign not just of World War II but of the recent hunt for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. The game is fairly well-stocked with connections adults will appreciate, even though everything is presented with Tonka-truck playfulness. By pushing that split tone, rather than, say, high def graphics, it seems like Kuju has found another way to evoke the Pixar vibe that so many games are after.

I've heard confusing statements about the multiplayer part, so could someone who has the game give me a short breakdown of all available multiplayer modes (local/online)?

This information comes from the (field) manual!:
No local multiplayer.
3 multiplayer mode types:
MP Assault:
As the attacker, complete each GOLD OBJECTIVE in sequence, then capture the enemy HQ before the TIMER runs out!
MP Skirmish:
All-out combat! Destroy the other player's units to win points. When the TIMER runs out, the player with the HIGHEST SCORE WINS!
MP Co-op:
Fight with your partner! Work together to complete your GOLD and SILVER OBJECTIVES and defeat the enemy.
Also it seems you have to unlock different mp levels by playing the available ones.
Caution: wrist strap use:
-DO IT
-DRY YOUR HANDS
-USE THE WII REMOTE JACKET

Ouch, that's a HUGE bummer. I was really looking forward for some hot splitscreen action. Why local multiplayer couldn't make into the final game puzzles me.

Especially considering the Wii is such a party console...
on one hand, that is sad because local multiplayer is what the wii is all about.
on the other hand, i hate splitscreen anyway, especially if there's no horzontal option. i've never enjoyed any splitscreen multiplayer.
This or Z&W... so many games, so little money/time.

Yeah, I'd imagine that there'd be just to much shit going on in regards to the UI and stuff that splitscreen would be a collosal headache.
The lack of local multiplayer kinda kills it for me... Anyone out there bought it and have any opinions on it?
the trick is, get all your friends to buy a wii 8-)
still waiting for canada to get our stock, hopefully tomorrow.
The majority of my friends are afraid of games which aren't Wii Sports, so it's somewhat out of the question. My friend who isn't already bought an Xbox360.
Also, it hasn't shipped to our Frigid Northlands yet? Makes my decision a little easier then.
I got it and played a bit of multiplayer. It's pretty sweet, but my friend and I couldn't get multi going between us, only random games. I'm sure the servers will be working fully by the end of the week, like Strikers.
I agree that it is a bit strange that there's no reviews running aside from NPs. Isn't BWii one of the more major titles too? To those who do have it, how's it? Multiplayer good? How deep is the coop? Any news on wether or not mp will be region locked?
The main thing preventing me from immediately picking it up is wether or not I'll be able to play online internationally. A group of friends and I would love to grab this but they're all in UK and Aus. Be very disappointing to find out we wouldn't be able to play together online.
I'll definitely be picking up something this week. It's a toss-up between this and Zack and Wiki
I got this, played the first two campaigns and some online multiplayer. I am definitely digging skirmish in the online multi. I wish there was a single player skirmish option against CPUs, but sadly there isn't. Campaign is good ol' battalion wars, so if you enjoyed the cube game, you will be satisfied here. Wii remote makes free aiming much easier, which comes into play much more in multiplayer since everything is much more easily dodged when using the lock on. The game is just as hectic as the cube one, multiplayer can get pretty crazy. Assault and a couple skirmish levels I feel give the advantage to defense, especially in one skirmish map, since skirmish the winner is determined by highest points. I also played a couple coop missions, which are fun, but I don't see too much point to go back (unless unlocks are achieved by S ranking them). Once you figure out the controls and have a slightly competent ally, they are easy to beat (so far).
Also brigadier betty's voice actor has changed, she is not annoyingly high pitched and just generally irritating anymore (thank god).

Such a pity that they're not really advertising it at all.
Are there any reviews?

I'm betting Betty is still annoying.
Been looking forward to this then Smash Brawl for some reason truth be told..
Hopefully the lack of early reviews doesn't mean it's bad.
And there's ads running on IGN/Gamespy, but no reviews from either.
EDIT: Metacritic has ONE review and Gamerankings has a single as well. What's up with this?
