Thanks for the help guys. If all goes well I'll be hopping on in the next few days, depending on how many projects start piling up. Goddamn end of semester stuff...
So I was looking at the veteran pages, and also my account, and also the subscription plans and I wondered something.....
I have 6 months of subscribed time at the moment and I want the 12 month rewards (as my 6 months was a letdown reward....) and I wondered why, if I went ahead and subscribed for 6 more months right off the bat, I would still have to wait until after that time to get the goodies.
They still got the same amount of money and I will still play for as long....I just want that axe and the sands and I am impatient!
Has anyone ever brought this up or am I beating a dead horse?
If anyone here gets a job on CoX I demand to be hired on as a consultant.
My fee is Electricity Manipulation/Electricity Blast for Dominators. That is all.

Believe me, this stuff has been beaten to death, raised from the dead, slain, resummoned, killed, etc. on the official forums. ;-)
Basically, it comes down to this. They aren't using them as a money making thing, but as a thank you to the people who have been their best customers over time. Like how if you've been going to a mechanic for a long time, he may treat you better than some dude whose had his oil changed there twice.

Yea, I figured that but I was just curious....and impatient....and also fuck the 6 month reward. I hate using the chest emblems in most all cases, and I can't think of anything I would do with them except make a "something"-pi character.
Like Cow-pi or Meat-pi or something lame like that and that sort of behavior should NOT BE ENCOURAGED!
EDIT: although, to continue the "discussion" (read: horse beating) its like the guy changed my oil twice and yet I paid him for like a years worth of oil changes I would assume he would give me something....but I guess they DO give you something in the form of a few more days.....
I just REALLY dont want to wait.
EDIT MOAR: My last edit was kind of homoerotic. That is all
So CoX does run better on my old video card then it did on my newer (dead) video card.
But it still has major fps issues on this old thing.
Laaaaame.
It's because you touch yourself at night...and in the morning..the afternoon..evening too..well just most of the time.
Also what vidja card are you using and what settings are you running at? Turning off stupid pointless things like bloom and depth of field helps obviously and turning down the uh..distance scaling or whatever the fuck it is called helps too..things around medium with no special bells and whistles still look ok.
But hes not using an ATI card... hes using an Nvidia card.
I run CoH on a 7800GT pretty well. All the fancy stuff on, some of it set lower. (like AA, that will cost you some serious performance. If you have AA on, try turning it off and see where your FPS is after that.)
I get about 30-35fps in the world and 60+ in a mish (unless its a huge party, then it probably drops to like 45-50)
There are sticky'ed threads for reccomended settings for both ATI and Nvidia in the Tech section of the official forums btw. May be useful for people. They're compiled by tech head players, not official though.
So is there anywhere where I can find recent builds for AT's? For instance I'm trying to find Brute info and most of it is I6/I7 which is fairly old. Some other classes get clsoer to about I9, and the search function on the official forums is less then stellar.

Tried the sticky'ed guides in the Brute forum? Or are they all out of date?

I think every single one is I6 or earlier.

I usually just read what a power does and attempt to find some numbers for it and then slot as I want. Often my slots are quite a bit different then the average player..often they are the same. Often I hear people talking about a power in the channel that they have slotted completely different than mine but I tend to trust my judgement anyway. I guess I have a little bit of in-built knowledge from asking PAers and reading the guides when they were current also. Really I'd just say wing it and if you don't know how to slot something just ask in here. There is bound to be someone who has a large amount of knowledge of a power in all of the PAers.
One thing I find that works quite well if you are just slotting for SOs or generic IOs(SO level) is to think of a power in 3 seperate ways. The absolute minimum that power would need to be slotted if you were to take it but use it rarely(2 acc type of deal), a mid range type of slotting(3 dam, 1 acc) and how you would slot the power if you had unlimited slots or if it was a very important power(3 dam, 2 acc, 1 rec/end). Sometimes these end up being all the same. Then think of which powers are your cornerstones and which you will take but aren't your cornerstones and which are shit and you should skip and go from there. Unless a power is an absolute "this must be slotted immediately", I tend to slot everything else up to mid range slotting and then start slotting on the basis of importance. That is primarily how I have done my builds anyway..hope that helps.
Another tip is to write down the various numbers that you get new powers at(1-1-2-4..32-35-38 ect) and then put down each power you want in your build on the level you get it at. Then look at those powers..choose which are most important..leave them there..and move the less important ones down the build into the open power levels. This will give you a rough idea as to power choice order. Obviously some changes end up needing to be made but it is usually pretty accurate.
Well I mean things that flat out say "this power sucks", As an example, Archon has Choking cloud because back then it didn't suck so hard, with all the changes since then I've had to completely rebuild Archon from the ground up. Anohter problem is trying to find actual posts in the forum since you can't just single out the words fire melee and brute with everyone lsiting all their heroes and villains in their sigs. Using it only for titles doesn't come up with much or stil only gives Scrapper or tanker posts.
Ok then how about this. Fire/Fire brute, which powers are keeper and which are full of fail and lose? I'm thinking of SJ as my travel power, speed for hasten, and of course health and stam. None of the patron powers seem to fit my build idea so other possibly useful pool powers would be welcome for a huge golem made of obsidian and magma.
Once I get my powers and leveling order, then I can bug you guys about slotting.
Long time listener, first time caller and all that. I am fixing to resub ANY MINUTE. I also like ideas about 45 days instead of 30. If you are like minded and have the ability to special offer or whatever at me I encourage you to PM me and we can HASH OUT THE DETAILS. I also play on Virtue so internet friends.

Alright dudes, I have started up again with an incredibly lame gimmick character who also has a rather lame costume. The Great Destroyer is now a level 11 blaster who I've just been badge collecting with (31 so far woo). Please help me get to level 20 so I can get past "He's a vigilante wearing the clothes that he can find" to "It's a superhero with a superhero costume woo!"
Also I'm guessing he's really shitty anyway since I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to character building.

It's easy to get a second costume. First you get a sugerdaddy to give you about... say 500K (conservative estimate) and then head over to the auction house. Buy the special event salvage (all 4 pieces) and then head over to Croatoa (Take the base teleporter to Steel Canyon, it drops you off within spitting distance to the Blue line to Croatoa) Then you go see a witch about getting yourself a new costume slot. She's right next to the tram, so that's not a problem. Then you go back to Steel and whine like a little newby bitch to get a teleport to Icon. Bamm!, problem solved.

I put it on performance. I usually mess things up when I fiddle with options.. :P

It obviously also helps to write all this down.
And, I present, adventures in kicking aliens in the face.
That first picture is pure awesome.

They provided a preview of the online character thing: City Vault and some new costumes. Apparently coming before christmas.
Be sure to total both accounts.
I can already see what I'm going to do with them
