If this was cropped and resized a little it could be used as a sig. Or even better, get added to the TF2 pictures for Suds's Steam sigs.

500x80 and a .png and it's good to go. Someone else step up to the plate and I'll upload it.

I've got a 24" Dell 2407WFP-HC and reading text on it is just fine. It's clearer than my previous monitor, the tried and true Samsung 19" 955DF CRT. Which also had amazing clarity at it's native resolution (1280*980).

The only thing that can make this monitor a bit hard to read text with isn't the resolution, but just how bright the panel is. Which is easily fixed with custom picture settings.

    Could you elaborate, please?

In the console of Team Fortress 2 (developer's console must be enabled in the game options, it's under one of the Advanced... buttons, press the tilde [~] key to activate it in game) type in:

    bind "f5" "jpeg"

Where f5 is the key you'd like to assign to saving jpeg screenshots. Pardon my lack of knowledge, I'm not sure if taking a jpeg screenshot will move the HUD info as it does with the regular screenshot function, perhaps someone else knows.

The PA servers may not be pefect, but every time I go on a pub there is always terrible co-ordination, fairly new/unexperienced players and complete idiots. At least on the PA servers we all want to enjoy the game and make it fun for each other, plus all have a lot of experience with the game. At the worst times we can get one sided games with a bit of stupid chat but at the best times we can get some fucking epic, fun and well balanced games in that require and have real teamwork. Hell, even LOSING to you guys is fun sometimes, plus sharing our exploits via this thread is always a bonus.

I never seem to shake my fist at the screen and verbally abuse a dumb player on the PA servers.

I'm having a hell of a lot of fun playing defensive scout, even if I know I'd probably do more good as a demoman.

Running through the offense and hanging out in the first part of stage 2 of Dustbowl and just ambushing people and harassing them is so goddamned fun, plus it sort of feels like I'm helping by slowing their pushes too. It has so many healthboxes around that you can run circles around people and live for a pretty good amount of time.

I've noticed more and more there just seems to be a guy on each team who likes to bitch incessantly about everyone else on the team.

"Why aren't you guys pushing forward?", "We really need to move up.", "Why isn't anybody else doing anything?", "so-and-so what are you doing, that's wrong", etc.

Despite all the whining that apparently we aren't even trying to win, we usually do win and do so without this guy even being near the cap or the top of the team points when it's over.

Seriously, we're trying to win too so shut up.

I hate to shout at people but all I could think of while playing on a pub server yesterday was WHEN I'M ON FIRE AND IN FRONT OF YOU AND YOU ARE PLAYING WITH A MEDIC AND I HAVE NO HEALTH AND MY CHARACTER IS SCREAMING THAT HE IS ON FIRE AND OBVIOUSLY NOT HAPPY WITH THE SITUATION AND I'M PRESSING THE ASK FOR MEDIC BUTTON AND YOU ARE PLAYING AS A MEDIC WHO IS LITERALLY DOING NOTHING AT ALL I WOULD APPRECIATE A LITTLE ATTENTION THANK YOU VERY MUCH PLEASEHTNANKSBYE

On PA I know someone is eventually going to be kind enough if they are not too busy to help me out in that situation but those other kind of asshats really didn't care about the other team members.

You are being really general here. There is good communication too. The way you are talking, it makes it sound like we should all stop communicating. I say a few of those lines at various points in a game if I think it's necessary and the team isn't doing it, although I don't say silly shit like "Do you want to win or not." or "Why isn't anybody else doing anything?".

I don't want people to think they shouldn't talk at all.

This was a specific case for me on the pub, at least I know if I burn to death in a PA server the medic was probably doing a good job elsewhere instead of probably just staring at my flaming black scottish persona and lol'ing.

I never feel like I have to blame the PA dudes for messing up, at least I know they try.

EDIT: someone who plays as a spy a lot, rename yourself 'An enemy spy' and see how well you do. I'm just imagining the rare occasion of another spy disguising themselves as a member of your team and using that name without realising it, then getting caught by a paranoid player for it, hehehehe.

Frustration is being a medic who just helped beat a random pyro rush and is helping heal up the team waiting for the push to begin, having 30 health, spamming the medic button and watching the other medic keep the (unhurt) heavy's health topped off as he stands there and watches me crumple and die. I swear I survived for ten seconds, just staring at him.

That medic's name is forever burned into my soul.

I am very bad at healing the specific person I want to heal, especially if they are a faster class, there are a lot of people bunched up, or if everyone is moving around. So like, if you're a scout and we're all capping a point and jumping around? Sooo hard to heal. Sorry.

Yeah. Whats also really funny in a maddening way is when some scout with 110 health comes up and takes a healthpack right infront of a medic who is burning to death.

Speaking of which, I keep grabbing sceenshots of spies who have killed me while still invisible. I'm getting suspicious that they are using the glitch as it just seems to be the players who play spies a lot more than most PA-ers, eg, ones who are always labeled 'spy' when you look at their name.

Its pretty difficult to detect if they are doing it or not. They could just cloak right as soon as they kill you, and its kind of hard to detect at all if other people are doing it normally unless they just completely annihilate a heavy or a soldier the second they take out their melee weapon.

actually, should probably test that. get a buddy to stab you and right click right after he does, and see if the kill cam "shows" a transparent spy or a translucent one.

I'm fairly new on the servers, and it seems to be spotty. There are games where I'm on a team full of people who want to joke around, and don't bitch at each other when we lose. Those are awesome. That's what I expected from PA.

Then there are games when people just fly off the handle, as though we are playing for money. Those games suck, and I have no idea why fuckwads like that aren't verbally shut down by everyone else. I don't know that the server is "going to the dogs" but there is a lot of really unnecessary negativity.

As far as people telling the team when to push, and whatnot, I don't think there is anything wrong with that. You've gotta communicate on some level in a team game.

Here's something fun for you all to try. Play as a spy, find a server with me in it, then stand in front of me or to the side, uncloak and then quickly cloak and run off. I'll be the one spinning around, firing wildly and spamming the 'spy' voice command.

Nothing freaks me out more than spies I KNOW are there. I once hid in a corner in a small room after that happened, only to find the spy cloaked, trying to get into the corner I was trying topush my way past him into so he couldn't backstab me, so I flipped out and hit him with my shovel, killing him. It was just like out of the 'meet the soldier' video.

But ye be warned, freak me out too much and you will have a really pissed off trigger happy pyro on a witch hunt to contend with.

I enjoy playing a medic but apparently the proper time to uber is some mystical summit you have to spend years training in tibet to achieve. I get people bitching about when I uber all the time. It seems like ubering when you're in the middle of the enemy camp and your heavy/pyro/whatever is taking an absurd pounding from turrets/enemy is a poor idea.
