Any comics made you cry?

So I think almost any medium has that one example for a person that moved them to/close to tears. Videogames , movies, music, books, etc. I got to thinking, and wondered if any comic has ever ellicit that close to a response for anyone?

Nope. We3 was okay, but nowhere near the crying level. I blame the society for allowing myself be desensitized.

Seriously though, in any form of media, I have difficulty finding stuff that elicits an emotional response.

We3 was kinda sad. It's the comic that's been the closest.

I cry every week I fork over the 2.99 for Countdown.

I want to drop it, but I am too invested right now.

I keep hoping my investment will be worth it.

    The end of Transmet, easily...
...although I was also laughing and shouting "you magnificent bastard you actually won you glorious piece of shit!" So they weren't strictly tears of sadness.

Also, the end of 30 Days of Night
When Eben just disappears and there's one panel where she's sitting in the sunlight, looking completely bewildered with tears streaming down her face, like her brain decided it wanted to cry but the rest of her body hadn't caught up yet.

that was surprisingly sad, even though you knew what was going to happen.

it wasnt exactly in tears, but X-Men Omega had me pretty moved that mags was fighting for a world he doesnt even know is real but has to have faith that itll exist, solely because it would be better than the piece of shit life his world knew.

and the final panels just holding his family, watching it all go white. his last words, thanking the best friend who shared his dream and saved his life.

One of the better moments in all of Age of Apocalypse. I loved how genuinely pissed Kitty was about it.

There was this one issue of the old Gargoyles comic where Broadway fell in love with this vampire chick and it was all sad and stuff. I remember reading that issue when I was like, 14, and it made me choke back a few tears. Incedentally, it also solidified my love of comics.

This is a question Eric Shanower (Age of Bronze) asks a lot. And it's a good one, because, yeah, I do have a hard time thinking of comics that move me as much as certain movies or songs. But there are a few, and come to think of it a lot of them are Morrison. He's good at this.

    - The end of Flex Mentallo, when
Flex saves young Wally, and adult Wally realizes the pills he took were just M&Ms
makes me well up every time - but from manly awesomeness, of course. And, naturally, the last page:
    LookUp.jpg

    - Just about all of Seven Soldiers #1.

    - All-Star Superman #5.

    - The last issue of The Invisibles

Reading Barefoot Gen for the first time and when the book comes to the aftermath of the Hiroshima Bombing
Gen's father, brother and sister are trapped by a beam of wood. over the course of several pages Gen tries to save them from an aproching fire but fails.

Made me cry and scared the living bejesus out of me. I was 13 at the time and this was my first manga I ever read. I read it several times and everytime I came to those pages I dreaded it, but I had to read them, because they where so vital to the story.

It was also the first truly grownup Comic I read, dealing with adult issues such as war. Defined my atitude towards comics and Manga. Made me a bit of a snob towards mainstream comics really.

    Watchmen. Twice.
First when the news stand guy hugs the kid to comfort him as they die, and second when the former Silk Spectre kisses The Comedian's photograph and puts it back beside her bed.

New X-Men 24 made me cry too. And that Buffy season 8 issue 'The Chain', so I'll add my vote to both of those. Also, the "how did Buffy change your life?" story that won the competition to be a minor character in the season 8 comic made me cry too.
