I'll be getting married soon, and we'll be having a simple ceremony on the day. I was thinking of bucking the trend of using the typical wedding marches, and use something geeky in celebration of my geek nature.
I was thinking of using a nice musical score from a video/PC game for the wedding march in, and I'd like to ask for some suggestions.
I've got some criteria: It should be a musical score (no lyrics), melodic, evocotive, fairly romantic, but it can also be a little whimsical. It shouldn't be overly dramatic, and should be fairly mellow. I was thinking of using the Legend of Zelda theme (my fiancee loves Zelda), but I also wanted to see what other suggestions you all might have.
What suggestions do you all have? Thanks in advance!
I just had two friends get married recently and their wedding march was the wedding (i think) music from the princess bride. Definately geeky, but subtle.

I'm sometimes grumpy and random, feel free to overlook the strange man in the corner.
When I got married, my wife and I played "It's the End of the Word As We Know It (and I Feel Fine)" by REM when we ran down the aisle.
Also, may I suggest you have the DJ/Band play "Yakity Sax" during the bouquet toss. I had my DJ start off by playing some lame girly music and the second the bouquet was in the air, he played a record-scratch sound and hit up Yakity Sax. It was hilarious.
Also, congrats on the wedding. It will be the happiest day of your life, hands down.
When my wife and I got married, we had a guitarist and a flute dude (Can't think of the actual name but that should be it) They played the Isle Delfino music as the guests were finding their seats, as we left they played the love theme from Superman: The Movie, and when we walked into the reception, the throne room music from Star Wars IV played over their speakers.
If you're looking for good Final Fantasy music. The piano rendition of Eyes on me from Final Fantasy 8 is beautiful.
Wow. I really like that song. I'm looking through some of the others which it links to. I gotta get me the recording of that!
If you're interested in the orchestral arrangements, you can find that song and a bunch of others on the album "20020220 (Music from Final Fantasy)". I'm pretty sure it's on iTunes.
Oh, I've already asked her, and she is in full agreement to have me pick out a geeky song for the wedding march. My initial suggestions of Zelda went over very well.
I wouldn't do something like that without asking her. Not unless I want to be killed! :P

Everything is better when done to Hellmarch.

can a man get a spoiler warning, i'm playing through this right now
It's ok, it all still depends on what you do. I don't think I ever got the ending where they get married.

I'm not familiar with music from Final Fantasy, because I haven't played them extensively.
I'm wondering about music from Oblivion also... that one springs to mind because I'm still playing that one.

If this is the case, you're about to make the biggest mistake of your life.
You may think it would be original to ditch typical things for your wedding, but some people enjoy the traditional aspects of weddings.
Tread lightly!
That is all.
