Hey,
I need to create a video file which has old film style hisses, pops and scratches moving across it.
I want it to be on a darkish grey background.
I have a copy of after effects and have tried the following two tutorials:

Neither of which is proving much help, given my lack of knowledge about After Effects (this is my first time using it).
Basically, is there anyone who is skilled with after effects, or similar programs, which could assist me in getting this up and running?
