I am taking my feral lion ( girlfriend ) to Rhode Island to visit a friend. We plan to leave saturday, sleep in a sleezy hotel, hangout sunday, then another night in a sleezy hotel, then come back home late monday. Only I have no idea what the hell to do there.

There are some national parks, but I doubt the hiking will be decent.

Freezing ass cold, but prospect of ocean seems nice.

Where the hell can I find hotels? Trying for under $60 a night.

No idea what to dooo D;

    Speaking as someone who visits Rhode Island on a regular basis to see family and someone who has worked for the NPS, I can tell you right off the bat that there is NO hiking in either of the actual National Parks, they are both simple buildings, but there is a walking tour associated with the Roger Williams NM. There is also a walking tour of the Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor but I have never done that one.

    Where is it you are wanting to stay? If you're going to be in the southern part of the state I can help with that, but I've never had any reason to look for rooms in the northern region.

    We are visiting a friend of Hers in Newport. I figured there are three national park things within a short distance for ocean walks and whatnot.

    I am a big hiker and tend to judge all locations based on hiking ;3

    No idea where to stay, what is nice or anything.

    If you want very nice hiking go for Arcadia Management Area which has some very good trails. You could try Sun Valley Motel in Wyoming I've stayed there a few times in the past and the rooms were small but comfortable. The price was pretty good, it is directly off of I 95 about 45 minutes from Newport. There is the downside of having to cross a toll bridge on the way to Newport, but there is no way to get there without crossing one or taking a ferry. http://www.riparks.com/arcadia.htm This is the website for Arcadia Management Area.

    PS check when hunting season is deer season may have opened there.

    I guess we will have to leave our deer suits at home. It looks fantastic. I think I will take her to cape cod to kick the ocean ( she likes kicking bodies of water ). Visit her friend in Newport on sunday. Then wander around arcadia on monday ;3 It seems to work out well!
