Can someone please tell me how to open my goddamn NAT.

Because opening the "correct" ports (3074 and 88, TCP and UDP) do absolutely nothing. I run my Xbox 360 though my Macbook Pro by sharing the connection. Is there something I need to do on the Macbook?

It's amazingly frustrating to not be able to play Halo 3 online correctly. I can only connect with a few select friends, and so far tonight, I've lagged to the point of un-playability every single game. Seriously, what the fuck?

Where have you opened them? MacBook? Router?

You need to do it on every machine in your way that has any kind of firewall.

I've opened them on the router and I have my Macbook's firewall turned off. If I still need to open ports on my actual Macbook, how do I go about doing so?

You might want to check if your router has a software firewall or other filtering software built in, and turn that off too. I had the same issue with my 360, turns out my Netgear has some SPI firewall bullshit that appears to do nothing except make it difficult to connect. Turning that off fixed it right up.

How'd you find out and turn it off?

If you have a router, why are you sharing the internet connection from the mac? Why not just plug it into the router directly, and forward the ports you need from the router admin screen accordingly?

The router is upstairs, and my 360 is down here in my bedroom. I can't run a cable through the floor since I'm leasing the apartment. The router is wireless, but there's no way in hell I'm shelling out $100 for the 360 wireless adapter.
