That's why they gave Fear Ward to everyone, because they made fear not matter at all in PvE.
I dunno, a feared Nightbane tank will still wipe the raid when he runs towards them while said dragon breathes.
Well, hopefully the tremor totem will tick in those few seconds, allowing the tank to recover. But yeah, if the tank runs into the raid... lolcleave. Just might work tho, if everyone is feared and spreads out when they run around.
On to more druidy matters. Is there any math for comparing the everbloom idol (+88 to shred) with the new idol of terror?(chance to gain 65? agi on mangle hit) in a raid setting, or for tanking? There aren't really any good tanking idols, so it seems like it would be good for that at least.

Idol of Terror is the single best tanking idol in the game, period.
Everbloom idol beats it on DPS, but if you aint got Everbloom, Terror will suffice.

Fuck I'm stupid, I accidentally sharded my Everbloom Idol.
Ah well, badges are running like water after 2.3 what with the heroic quests and all.
PS. Idol of Terror has an 85% proc rate, and gives just over 4% dodge to a bear. Winner.

So what's the hidden cooldown?

I've seen it chain proc 4 Mangles in a row, which refreshes the buff: I'm assuming the only cooldown is the time between Mangles (you won't be constantly mangling as a cat unless you're soloing, and the bear mangle has a 6 sec CD).
Going straight from one form to another is the best thing ever. You can shift out of a form and back into it to break a snare so fast it won't even register on other people's screens though they might see that puff of smoke.
Well when I click on the shapeshift buttons on the stance bar they don't let me straight shift for some reason, but if I use a macro I can. I'd rather have a mod make the shapeshift buttons allow for straight shifting than have to make a macro for each form.
In unrelated news, where's our balance druids at? With my newfound spelldamage I want to know if my following soling rotation is okay: Root->Moonfire->IS->WrathWrathWrath

Personally I just Root, IS and then Starfire aslong as they're rooted, Wrath only when they get to melee range. A Starfire crit usually takes a good chunk of their health away. Two to three Starfires with IS ticking is enough to finish pretty much any mob.
Hmm nother question for a upcoming druid, does the dps on a weapon effect your damage at all in forms? I know procs don't work but if I have a weapon that does 4dps and one that does 6dps, does the 6dps mean my swings in bear form will be harder?

No, weapon DPS doesn't matter. Only the stats on the weapon.
Opty, I just use a bar addon to make my own "stance bar." If you drag the forms from your spellbook into your bars, does it allow you to do straight-shifting?

Powershifting made easy:
/cancelform
/cast Cat Form
There's a short delay between "entering" catform and the 40 energy from Furor showing up, but it's still 40 in less time than you would have regenned 20.
Just started levelling my druid, level 18 hoping to get 20 tonight (yay catform)
What should I put my first couple of talent points in? I have 5/5 Ferocity and I'm going for furor then the healing touch one for moar damage, then probably omen of clarity and then intensity.
Then back into the feral tree until I get to level 70 and I'm going tree form.

Is shifting out and back into the same form faster than it was before the patch? Because then, you needed to be careful when to shift, because energy "ticks" even when you're not in cat form, so if you don't shift out immediately after a tick in cat form, you'd potentially waste a tick.
No. Don't put anything outside of Feral until you get Mangle.
It's debatable. On a PVP server, I find 5/5 furor a must, just for the bear form -> feral charge combo. Going resto up to OOC is perfectly viable, though you'll prolly want to respec into Mangle at 50 or 55.
Mangle is going to be roughly double your claw damage which will be your main attack for soloing, so as soon as you are 50 you should respec to get it, then get your 11 points in resto, then toss the last points around wherever is more comfortable for you.

14k hp and 20k armor should be just fine for heroics. Maybe you're doing it wrong?
Anyway, I had a look at your armory and you should get Stylin' Purple Hat and Heavy Clefthoof Leggings for your head and legs, both can be found from your local AH. For your gloves get either Wastewalker Gloves from Shattered Halls (last boss) or Verdant Gloves from some quest from Shadowmoon, don't remember which one it is.
And as for rings, get 2x Iron Band of the Unbreakable from first boss of Durnholde. And get the cloak from first boss of Mechanar, can't remember what it's called.
Furthermore, I took a look at your spec and I find that it is extremely retarded.
Some pointers:
1) Feral Aggression is a trash talent. No one seriously puts any points there.
2) Same goes for Improved Mark of the Wild. It's absolute trash and only hardcore PvE restos and moonkins would even concider speccing it.
3) If you're going to tank, you NEED Feral Instinct.
4) If you're Feral, you also absolutely NEED Feral Charge. It's so good that even restos and moonkins often spec for it.
5) Shredding Attacks is nice for tanking and absolutely mandatory if you ever want to DPS.
On the talent advice: spot on. While you're removing points from Imp MotW put 3 into Natural Shapeshifter and 1 (and only 1) into Nature's Grasp. Both are for soloing/dps reasons.
Your head and pants are good for DPS, so when you replace them for tanking save them for your dps set.
Your neck is obviously not for a druid, something like Mark of the Ravenguard is much better.
The Verdant Gloves are from the end of the preliminary Ashtongue questline. They're worth it.
The cloak from the first boss of Mech is Thoriumweave Cloak. Very worth it.
Remember that once your resilience + your defense's crit protection is above 2.6% (that's the right number, right?) you can slowly start replacing those +def gems with +stam or +agi ones as long as you stay above that line.
Picked up Mark of the Ravenguard just now and will go get Verdant gloves later. Have 75k honor and 100 of each mark saved up to get S1 when it comes to honor system.
So they've given druids pots (of a sort) and herb picking in flight form right? So things are back to where they were this time last year in the beta! I'd love to know why they did pots this way rather than the simple "druids can use pots in forms" way they did it last time. Any ideas?

They wanted a way to force the druid to have to use mana to use the pots, I guess? I'm happy with the macro-pot method, though, because a pot in caster form means more health in bear form.

Did he not have enough gold to respec? You automatically get shifted out of a form if you unlearn your talents.

That is seriously the best change ever.
I am so glad I chose my druid to level for my second 70.
