Not to mention that it would be the single greatest...... i'm not sure what you'd call it, "Avengers assemble!" page?
I can just see the beetles being drawn charging into battle doing the super powered skrull limbs thing and John Lenon screaming "Skrull Beatles Reform!"
"The password is love, man. Let's get the band back together!"

Is there a good trade to get some Skrull John and the Skrull Beatles love going on? Because between what I read here here and the stuff on Scans_Daily I would like to know more.
Is Initiative concentrating on new characters now, or are we going to be seeing the original cast in their new roles every now and then as well?
I was actually kind hoping that after the first arc it'd be a bit back and forth. Like showing us particularly interesting groups. Maybe one having a pretty big arc or something. Ya know? Like show us the teams without books. (i.e We don't need to see what the Avengers, Thunderbolts, or Order are doing.)
I know a lot of people don't like Steve Uy's art, but I dig it. He did some awesome covers for JSA: Classified. Sure sometimes his anatomy's a little weird, but there's just something really pleasing to me about all his stuff.
Wow, Black Panther writing is horrible. I was kind of interest in picking up some trades, I like the character ,but that preview completely turned me off. Some decent ideas but terrible execution. IS this just a bad few pages to show off or has the whole series been like this for awhile?

Hudlin is pretty well established as a terrible writer
also man I am really digging Millar's FF
I love the whole thing with the workers. It makes sense that they would need a damn staff of people to get their shit in order.
shame that the anti-Galactus suit is ripped off of the Optimus Prime from the Transformer's Movie, Hitch can make some pretty damn cool robot designs.
i think there's been a staff at the baxter building for a long time, actually.
edit- though now that i think about it, the only specific instance i can remember was in millar's own wolverine series when all the workers get sent home because there's too much danger of being gutted by wolverine

I skimed through Initiative #13 in my comic shops preview books and let me say that Taskmaster does something awesome at the end of the issue. And there is some actual explanation of how the SHRA works!
In Slott's Spider-Man/Human Torch mini, Peter Parker had a brief stint as an intern at the Baxter Building. He was working with some other lab staff and another intern. He was fired when he "gave Spider-Man" the access code to the lab so he and Johnny could steal some ant-gravity tech to add to the spider-mobile so it could drive on walls.
In Weids awesome run (go out and buy it all now!) of FF there are plenty of staff in the building, it's shown to be quite a thriving comple. Plus it's a freaking awesome run with lovely Ringo art.

If you are interested in some good Black Panther stories try to find Priest's run, as it's actually awesome and I'm still bitter than they cancelled it to relaunch this bullshit.

So this week, there's a bunch of books from Image coming out that everyone should be reading.
Firebreather, written by Phil Hester (Irredeemable Ant-Man, Green Arrow: Quiver, Nightwing) and drawn by Andy Kuhn (Marvel Team-Up, Blue Beetle) is the first. It's about the teenage son of a middle class woman and a centuries-old tyrannical dragon. Check it out, and if you enjoy it, be sure to purchase the trade.
Proof is the story of the last known Sasquatch, who works for a sort of paranormal agency tracking down wayward cryptids. I know it sounds really derivative of Hellboy, but I promise, it has a flavor and style all its own. Here's a selection of excerpts for your perusal. I urge everyone to buy the trade.
Finally, there's The Astounding Wolf-Man, which has become the neglected younger brother of Invincible. A lot of people lost interest in it due to the slow burning plot, bi-monthly schedule, and shaky writing. But it's finally begun to settle into a groove as Kirkman's writing has evened out, and the story's picked up. It's also moving to a monthly schedule soon. Or so says Kirkman, who's not exactly reliable about these things. Still, if you're looking for a fun superhero comic with a horror twist, you could do a lot worse.

Let's Play Final Fantasy 'II' (Ch10 - 5/17/10)
I am so glad I got that in time for this week's MI:13 SI tie-in to make extra sense.
God Munch, I love you.

Is anyone else getting a technical error when they click on the link?
I did at first, but on refresh fixed it.

Edit: Haha. FF 557 makes me love Reed again.
"I was going for a different approach. What's the term, Frank?"
"It looks cool, sir."
"That's the one."

I'd say art. Most of the art doesn't bother me in the issue, but Taskmaster looks horrible.

Shhhh! Don't let Mask hear you!
Fraction talks about YA: Hawkeye

Yea or nay?
I'm up for more Ellis and RyP. The premise sounds very interesting and I really like the art of Black Summer, so I will probably buy the whole series.
You could always get it from Heavy Ink, with a discount and free shipping.
Alternatively, assuming you have any comic shop at all near you, most will be be able to place an order for a recent issue if you request it.
