Thanks for the warning, I'll steer clear of it for now. ~Crosses it off the list~

Blue, could you give me a rundown of the specs? Yougamers and SysReqLab both say I don't meet the minimum.

    Before I upgraded, I had:

    1 gig of RAM
    2.3 ghz CPU
    7600GT

and it ran quite nicely at 1024x768.

No the Steam version of Jagged Alliance 2 is totally fixed. And you CAN run CoD4. I mean, there are muchb etter games but I bet you can.

Well let's put it this way, I have trouble running BF2 at all minimum except the distance slider which is maxed. I expect the game made just recently despite the better engine will be worse then that.

Define much better games compared to CoD 4, I might ahve them and I might not.

It's really good, and pretty fun, my ONLY complaint was the limit in costumes and animations. Which just so happened to limit my ideas, therefore my play time.

finally got around to buying the Quake Collection.

I already had the DC version of Q3A, but really that barely even counts. My Quake 1 and 2 discs were lost long ago.

Why didn't this come with Quake 4?

I wish Steam would get some kind of community going in all their games with leader boards and achievements. I bet I would buy more games off Steam instead of just getting them off ebay or what have you for cheaper if all Steam games would link up the way Xbox Live does. As it is now all games stand alone, Geometry Wars on Steam didn't even have a networked leader board. It's a shame.

With Steamworks, I think that's up to the individual devs at this point. Or guess more importantly, publishers.

Hey, cool, got a response to my query about the TF2 manual,
We’re working on a large set of better documentation for TF2 that should find its way up onto the web soon.

Not sure I like the idea of 'better', unless they mean it as 'more complete', but I'm not complaining.

Also, they may or may not have secret plans to build the Death Star.

Unfortunately he also used the word "soon" which is Valve talk for "never."

Quick Episode One question for anyone who might know, it's not a spoiler but I'll spoiler it anyway.
Okay so Alyx and I are underground in the really dark garage filled with zombies and you have to guide her around with the flashlight to get her to shoot stuff.

Anyway we're moving through there killing zombies when all of a sudden there's this moan from behind me, naturally I whip around only to find Alyx laughing at me. "Heh heh, gotcha." she says.

I thought that was pretty funny, anyway my question is: is that scripted? I've played through that area twice and I don't remember her doing that. If it was just off the cuff then it's hilarious.

Yeah, it happens everytime you play that area. The first time I played I didn't even hear the sound, but noticed because I had subtitles on.

It's a a subtle effect, but it struck me how life-like it looked that I immediately thought "crap, sorry" and turned the flashlight away.

Then I did it again a few times, because it is also funny.
Also, she does the zombie groan thing, but IIRC not always, or at least not necessarily in the same place.

Valve are so awesome with their characters. I want Barney back in Episode 3.

The zombie thing, and a lot of other stuff in particularly that section of Episode 1, isn't scripted so much as there's a series of conditions and if they're all met it'll happen. Also they're all set not to happen more than once.

Also if you shine the flashlight at her she squinst and holds out her hand in front of her face to block the light. And if she gets close to a zombie/zombine/antlion/etc she does a cool melee takedown. Etc.
