I'm sure they make more money if you buy it off Greenhouse, and you can very easily add it as non Steam game.
I love Steam as much as the next guy, but I really hope the PC doesn't end up with digital distribution platform wars bullshit like the consoles. There really was zero reason for you to not buy it from Greenhouse when it first came out if you wanted to play it.
My Zero reason was waiting for all 4 episodes and getting them for probably $60 instead of $20 four times. Also, EA and MS already started the digital distribution war.

Can I re-download an unlimited amount of times from Greenhouse? Does it auto-patch? Does it integrate into my already existing Clickandbuy account linked to Steam?

Profile -> Signature Settings -> Hide signatures always. Then you don't have to read this worthless text anymore.
You can redownload an unlimited number of times from Greenhouse. No auto-patch though.
Guess I'll be rebuying this game.
I should have waited.
Is having it through steam really that big of a deal?
I mean yeah having it all in one place is nice as is auto-patching but I fail to see any real advantages to buying it again to have it on steam.

Yes, no, and you can still set it to be on your list of steam games so others can see what you're playing

Games for Windows is a game delivery platform? Or are you talking about something else for the PC?

Gabe and Tycho engineered this to increase their profits by having everyone on PC buy it twice.
At least I know I can wait for the next episodes to come to Steam. I bought it off of Hothead because they said there was no chance of Steam for now. Oh well, I'm not really mad (at least Greenhouse gives me unlimited downloads) but I wish it were in my Steam games with Steamworks integration, autopatching, and the potential for Steamcloud in the future.

But will it have achievements if you add it as a non-Steam game? No it won't.
Oh god, just building rooms is hard....Maybe I'm ot cut out for this.
The special edition of UT3 comes with around 20 hours of tutorials taking you through all the basics of level creation. Useful place to get started if you're interested in level design, although admittedly not the same engine, you'll learn a lot that's transferable later.
You could also try Sandbox 2, which is the editor that comes with Crysis. It's easier to get to grips with and you can see results pretty fast. Making tropical islands is awesome.
RE: PAA on Steam:
I don't see what the big deal is. Whenever I want I can re-download from the website, I don't even need to login. About the only thing I need handy is the code they sent, and that's in an e-mail.
I don't really care about achievements. Honestly, I didn't even look at the list. *shrug*

Speaking of that UT3 special edition... I've been rather on the fence about buying UT3. I recently discovered that a local retail store nearby is selling a couple copies of the special edition at the same retail price as the standard edition (which is the same as the price on steam). I feel bad about cheating on my beloved steam when I buy games, anyone have input on if the extra pack-ins would be worthwhile?

I'd say they are if you're interested in getting in on level creation, the tutorials are very in-depth and start you off from the presumption you don't know really know anything about the topic. There's a small artbook and documentary in there as well, but they're not all that interesting.
Although if I'm honest, I'm not a huge fan of the game itself. It's not a bad game, it's just pretty much the same as UT 2004 with an updated graphics engine and a "Gears of Unreal" art design. IIRC, there are still more people playing 2004 than UT3.

This is what Left 4 Dead would look like if it were to suck
except not at all
I enjoy playing both Master and Panic, but Panic seems to resemble Left4Dead more.
Hey, me too! High five!
Add me on Steam, we should play together
Now to wait for an all-in-one package :P
Think there's any chance of it being possible to register my key and get it on Steam without buying it again?
At least you're not alone in wishing that.
My extreme slowness when it comes to buying games has paid off, and I will now have PA:A in my Steam account whenever I so fancy. Hoorah.

Can you give me your money
Gears of War Digital Distribution
Basically some of their "exclusives" are going through that instead of Steam, just like EA is doing.

no it doesn't but I can't imagine re-buying it for them
chances are HH will patch it into the GreenHouse version eventually

That said, I'm still a cheapskate and will be waiting for the weekend, on the decent-to-high chance it'll be on sale.
Whoa, it's only $20? Where'd I get the idea it was $30?
edit the second: Isn't mumbo jumbo the company that bought Ritual?

He's a good guy.
