That's one of the things I find interesting about the HL games...depending on whether or not Gordon had any sense of time in hibernation, from HL 1 to Ep 2 he hasn't had any sleep, other than a few minutes of unconciousness, or even a bathroom break...I hope the suit's got a hose for that or something.
All I can think of, when I consider going from HL 1 to HL 2 to Ep 1 to Ep 2, without a break, is that Gordon's having the worst week in history.
It's amazing, isn't it? You'd think he'd have had a nervous breakdown by this point. The H.E.V. Mark V probably detects elevated levels of stress and just pumps out more morphine. Gordon's probably more or less high all the time.
Technically, we don't know how long Gordon gets knocked out at some points.
-After the resonance cascade, he wakes up in the test chamber after an unknown ammount of time
-After he gets captured by the Military, he gets knocked out. It's unknown how must time elapses in-between Gordon get knocked out and the grunts finally tossing his ass into the garbage compactor.
-Honestly, I would imagine that the Gman kept him "fresh" while in stasis between HL1 and HL2; including making sure has the necessary nutrition and rest, even if Gordon isn't aware of it.
-After the Vorts take him out of stasis the deposit him in the rubble below. Conceivably he was there for some time (around the same time Alyx was put there) until Alyx found him. Another point in time where he could sleep.
-After the Citadel blows and the train gets derailed, Gordon could have been knocked out again.
Well, there's only one thing I truly want out of Episode 3.
Doctor Wallace Breen. That delusional, psychopathic monster is in some kind of Combine supplied body right now, and if his panic at the Advisor's suggestion is anything to go by, it's a little far removed from his original one. Much like the Combine Advisors, I would like to kill or do something truly horrible to Breen.
Uh, he's most likely dead at this point, as the Dark Fusion reactor was destroyed before he teleported to the other side (which is where he was going to receive his host body, so he could survive in that environment.) Last we saw of Breen was him falling to his death as the reactor fizzled out... and then blew up.
Well...
They did replay his panic in Episode 1, and I'd optimistically like to think they did it for a reason. Maybe the Combine grabbed a copy of his personality, and even though his body was obliterated his mind lives on? I could've sworn I heard that Valve mentioned they had the replay of Breen's message for a reason, even if they didn't want to give away the reason immediately.
To fake out the player, perhaps? Or reminding the player about who Breen was talking to?

It seems the only times Gordon's ever had a break is when he's been knocked out. No wonder he doesn't talk much, he's probably in a constant state of amnesia, confusion, paranoia and contusion, not to mention having a splitting headache and being doped up on morphine pretty much all the time.
*thud* Who're you?! How'd I get here?! Why are those aliens trying to eat my head?!
*thud* Who're you?! How'd I get here?! Why are those soldiers shooting at me?!
*thud* Who're you?! How'd I get here?! You're my friend Barney? If you say so!
I'd like to see GLaDOS in Ep3, but only as a minor cameo, not any sort of major character. I think having GLaDOS be too prevalent would just spoil the character.
Well, I imagine that GLaDOS will appear in some form. Maybe...
You'll find single personality modules that will add flavour to a sequence of the game. I can understand not wanting to overuse a fantastic character like GLaDOS, but seeing her screw around with the Combine aboard the Borealis would be exquisite. Mimicking the voice of the Overwatch AI, and then laughing as she makes some Combine Soldiers walk into a furnace or something.

Not sure if you know this, but the voice actor that does GLaDOS is the same actor who does the Overwatch voice in Ep2.

Come episode 3, SOMEONE's going to be getting a crowbar to the face.
Although now I think about it, it might be Alyx who'll be getting her revenge on. Who knows how it's going to affect her character in the next installment.
I would love to see Alyx just fucking go off on some poor Overwatch soldier
That said they better not fucking kill her because if they do there will be Hell to pay
Hell I say
Given that Episode 3 is the end of an arc for Half-Life 2, I'd be prepared to guarantee that an Advisor is going to be horribly slaughtered either by Gordon or Alyx. Either the Vortigaunts will somehow get rid of the Advisor's telekinesis, or a Fantastic Technological Solution will be given that allows for cybernetic grub slaughtering.
Also, your username wouldn't happen to be from R. Daneel Olivaw, would it? If so, .
Why yes it is
Also I agree
My bet is the G-Man shields you and Alyx from their telekinetic mind powers long enough to pump a rocket or two into 'em. They don't look particularly tough, so I'm guessing without their fancy pants brain powers they die pretty quick

I just restarted HL1, and there's no unconcious moments during the cascade, he just gets ported around for a few seconds, like in the beginning of HL2. After HL2 I might give it a few hours, Alyx had time to set up that comm unit and such, but the train wreck I'd only give 10 minutes or so passed.

Well D0G certainly managed to wail on one pretty hard in about 5 seconds, once he got the drop on them.

Oh that reminds me, DOG better not die either
I wouldn't mind if Mossman died or even if I died, as long as it ends up saving the world or something

I ordered the Orange Box soundtrack, and I just decided to listen to my HL2 Gold soundtrack.. man there was a lot of music they got out of this game... I just listened to an almost roman trumpet number that was pretty good, but I can see why they cut it.
All your favorites from Rockstar Games are now on Steam! To celebrate, you'll save 10% on every title, from the complete Grand Theft Auto and Max Payne series to Manhunt, Midnight Club II, and more. Specially-priced collections and bundles are on sale, too, including The Rockstar Collection, which packs every Rockstar game for just $53.95 (regular price: $59.95). Hurry--the sale ends January 11.
Aww, too bad GTA1 and 2 can't be bought individually, would have picked them up for nostalgia's sake.

My suspicion is that they're going to do something with the Combine homeworld in Episode 3 that makes it worth pointing out again that "there's no way I can survive in that environment."

Breen better come back because I loved Robert Kulp's performance so much.
I've discovered something weird with Steam. I've spent around 7 hours so far with Psychonauts and it doesn't even show up in the community stats page. Aren't 3rd party (Non-Valve) games Stats aware?
I could have sworn Trackmania was stats aware.

I honestly pretty much don't buy PC games, unless they're on Steam. Like, I'm interested in the Witcher, but, meh. Maybe it'll come to Steam, someday. :P

It's because Steam has got problems with games with launchers. If a game launcher is started through Steam and the launcher then starts the game, your status will appear as "online" instead of "in game" and time will not be recorded. With non-Steam games you can just point Steam directly to the game instead of the launcher, but unfortunately that isn't possible with Steam games, such as Psychonauts.
I'd get the GTA pack, but I have SA on PS2 and I've barely played it. I might get Vice City eventually though. I played that one a ton one weekend on a friends PS2.
