I can't tell from the scans how terrible the Wii graphics are (or if they're from the PS2 version) but I can say I'm now only really anticipating the "next-gen" version of the game. Poor, poor Gamecube 1.5.

*shrugs* I like the Wii style. It's better than going for a realistic look and making it look like a watered down version of the 360/PS3 version.

As of now, I'm getting both. They both look fucking awesome.

Yeah, also seems that this might be slightly more wii-centric then PS2-centric with the more focused multiplay (including 4 player)

Article also stated that it's the same story for both version but presented slightly differently (probably similar to Splinter Cell DA).

Well I'd probably sold if it was online multiplayer cause, hey, multiplayer Ghostbusting, but I don't get too many chances to do local multiplayer with the Wii. I hope it turns out awesome though. And if the controls end up like RE4 it's an instant buy.

So I go to Gamestop to pick up the Game Informer with the Ghostbusters cover, and the horn-rimmed glasses girl who was running the place asked me if I wanted to buy the subscription. I said "no" because I only buy two GIs a year, typically, and I don't want the excess mail. She scanned it, looked at the computer awhile, then turned to me and said she couldn't sell it to me because the computer automatically assumes that you got talked into the subscription.

I was like, "What did you do, Ray?"

So I must rely on my faithful Penny Arcade friends to get me all the lowdown on the Ghostbusters game, because I'll be damned if I'm going to support that kind of business practice.

Dude, for the price of three issues, you get them sent to you for free, AND a discount card.

excess mail? Do you not have a garbage can?

If you never read the magazine, or buy used games, or whatever, then it doesn't make sense, but if you actually buy seperate issues of the magazine durring the year, it is basically crazy not to subscribe.

Same reason I subscribed to OXM (ten bucks an issue, versus twenty-five for a year.)

Gerald David Music, better known as Lorenzo Music, (May 2, 1937 – August 4, 2001), was an American actor, voice actor, writer, television producer and musician. He may be best known as the original voice of the animated cartoon cat Garfield and the voice of Carlton the doorman ("Hello, this is Carlton, your doorman") on the television show Rhoda. He is also known for his roles as Tummi Gummi in Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears, the original voice of Peter Venkman in DIC's The Real Ghostbusters, and Larry the Crash Test Dummy in a series of 1980's public service announcements about wearing seat belts in vehicles.

I wondered why they didn't tap him for the Garfield movies.

    Rest in peace, dude.

And rumor has it that Lorenzo was replaced with Dave Coulier on the Real Ghostbusters after Murray complained that his character sounded like Garfield (since both were done by the same guy).

Also of note is that Arsenio Hall did the voice of Winston for a while, before being replaced as well.

The hilarious thing was that Ernie Hudson, who played Winston in the movies, auditioned for the role of Winston for the cartoon and was rejected in favor of Hall.

How's that for a slap in the face?

Paranoia is a form of delusional insanity. So yes, I'm probably crazy.

They might not want to screw me over, but they don't necessarally have my best interests at heart, either.

I have to wonder why Gamestop pushes those magazine subscriptions so hard... to the point of rating employees on $15 subscription sales over hundreds of dollars of product sales. What do they get out of it? I'm thinking that the answer is advertising demographics. Why play their game? If I would only save ten bucks a year from the few used titles I buy, there's no financial incentive for me to sign on to get something I don't want every month.

No, it's just going to have a cartoony artstyle with more of a multiplayer focus (And by multiplayer, I mean co-op and Ghostbusters vs Ghosts deathmatch). It's supposed to follow the story of the 360/PS3 version fairly closely otherwise.

Yea, didn't see that mentioned, I had just saw they used the word casual when referring ot the Wii/PS2. As someone else said, the cartoony look is kinda nice and probably better than trying to imitate the 360/PS3. I just hope they include online multiplayer.

I broke three traps in my time. Nothing could get those damn handles to stick after breaking them. Tried 5 different glues, tape, whatever. Tape would work for a while, but it was just so terrible looking.

As for the Wii/PS2 version, make sure to check out the last page of the Game Informer that is scanned at ghostbustersiii.blogspot.com as it looks pretty neat. Just has a cartoony approach, and has a co-op mode, along with the Ghost vs. Ghostbusters thing. Frankly, I'm scared that I'm probably going to have to buy both versions now.

Its a shame but I guess it does make sense, I mean they looked in their 30s back in 1989 and its nearly 20 years later, if they were ever gonna do a 3rd film it should have been 10 years ago.

You know, I grew up with the Real Ghostbusters, but I've recently watched all the Extreme Ghostbusters and I actually like it more. Blasphemy I know! But they managed to get away with all kinds of seriously creepy shit that the 80's cartoon never did. Like in one episode there were demons from another dimension that were abducting innocent people and and then surgically mutilating them (conscious and with no anesthetic even!).

In another a Chinese dragon was stealing people's bones leaving them as living masses of fleshing begging to die.

One of my favorites was a direct sequel to an episode of the Real Ghostbusters, "Grundelesk" which was the saturday morning version of Silence of the Lambs. One of the new ghostbusters had to interrogate the Grundle, a monster the original team had busted a decade before, to find a new monster with the same MO.

And even the naysayers like the two part episode "Back in the Saddle" in which the original Ghostbusters come out of retirement to show the kids how it's done old school style.

This show needed a good game adaption (it had a crap one). Anyone else like it?

And yes it was the show with a Ghostbuster in a wheel chair.
