Rise from your grave! And hit a level seven on the PKE meter.
Even though Activision (stupidly) dropped this, it's now being published by [strike]Infogrames[/strike] Atari. Says who?
Ray Stanz, that's who.
Dan Aykroyd says Atari will be publishing Ghostbusters: The Video Game.
Apparently, Aykroyd lets the beans spill today during an appearance on Live 105.3 KLLI, a Dallas-based radio station. Although Aykroyd's appearance on the station hasn't been posted on the channel's official Web site, reports of the conversation -- in which Aykroyd said the game is a year away -- are cropping up all over the Internet.
It never actually was canceled by the developer, it was dropped by Activision when they bought Vivendi for Blizzard and scrapped everything else.
Which was a truly dumb move, as this is almost guaranteed to be a best-seller, even if it winds up sucking.
Activision also dropped Brutal Legend (still under development according to Double Fine) and 50 Cent, Blood on the Sand (which got canceled after the devs came to their senses and realized a gangsta rapper shooting Arabs for no apparent reason was a horrible idea).
It's good to see Ghostbusters has gotten Atari to publish it. Ever since Zootfly leaked those bits of the game they were making I've been excited. The more recent gameplay previews reinforced my interest. I hope Brutal Legend finds a publisher, I like the idea of running around a world where the greatest weapon is Metal.
I think I heard somewhere that 50 Cent's Blood in the Sand has found a publisher, THQ. Will you guys hold it against me if I say that I'm losing faith in my fellow man?
I have to admit, I wasn't interested in the game, but that trailer was pretty freaking groovy. Almost the entire cast back doing their voices, and the script and dialogue sounds awesome. Loking forward to it.
Come on guys, this game hasn't dropped off the face of the Earth yet.
New trailer!
*snip!

I'm struggling with unbridled fanboy excitement and general skepticism concerning video game franchise tie-ins. I'm sure this has been hashed out throughout this thread, so I won't belabor it.
The story looks great. Classic ghostbusters stuff. If the gameplay is passable (a camera that doesn't get in the way, workable controls, etc.) then it's probably a purchase for me.
Honestly it makes me more pissed that we couldn't have this movie.
trailer looks good. that sure doesnt sound like bill murray though.
Bill Murray doesn't sound like Bill Murray?
seriously, everything looks pretty good so far, though the animation for when the characters in the car could use some 'tightening'.
i'm actually surprised how similar old bill murray sounds to young bill murray, i hated old sean connery's voice on young bond in 'from russia with love'.
Wow that trailer really does look awesome. I have to agree on the voice acting being really weird... it sounds like Bill Murray is trying to mask his voice or something while Ray sounds like he has his nose pinched. Nevertheless I can't wait!

"It's funny that pirates were always going around searching for treasure, and they never realized that the real treasure was the fond memories they were creating."
My fears are all gone. Real voices I know and love coming from oddly animated video game charecters is a very bad thing (LOST: Via Domus). I was afraid it would just come off as odd, dead line reading from those guys.
But Sierra NAILED the animation. When Venkman stands up, pulls up his belt, and casually leans back talking about "more overtime", it moved and acted like Bill Murray. Thats such a huge part of his humor, and I love the attention to animating the right mannerisms.

And what the fuck is up with this no online play on the Wii thing? That was the selling point of that version wasn't it?

Nice to see [strike]Infogrames[/strike] Atari publish something that doesn't involve Dragonball Z for once.
Can trade TF2 items or whatever else you're interested in. PM me.

Damn you - you beat me by a minute.

I hope this game does well and warrants a good sequel.

It has been brought back and will be here soon. I can't wait to see the trailer when I get home.
