According to Kirkman's blog Issue 50 was going to be finished the week after March 17th, and then it was off to the printers. Though the real answer is there is no schedule anymore, and things come out when they com eout at this point.
So does that mean there was a 7 month gap between issues?? I was wondering why there didn't seem to be that much of an issue difference between now and when I last read like 2 years ago.
Nah, the last two (or three?) issues have shipped almost monthly, but there was a very wide gap in there somewhere. It's just kind of odd looking back now that they were talking about the new costume and issues 50 and 51 so long ago and we're still not there yet.
I bet it'll be solicited within the next month or two. All that material's already collected, and I doubt they'd have Ottley be working on it if it weren't due out soon.

kirkman told us that #50 and #51 should be out next month and that the series should be back on track after that
Whoa now http://www.newsarama.com/comics/080606-Invincible50.html
#50 is scheduled for next week guys
There's a couple page preview linked in there, there may be spoilers in the article itself I don't know I haven't finished reading it
I just finished through trade #9, and all I can say is I wish I hadn't waited so long to read Invincible. It's definitely one of of the best comics I've ever read.
I just finished the ninth TPB too. While I'm a rabid Invincible fan, it didn't leave me quite as satisfied as the previous volumes. It seemed like a lot of it was just set-up for stuff to come later.
Still one of the best superhero comics on the stands though.
Zeromus I was going to give you money but then my car decided it didn't like you and I had to replace the entire exhaust system. Take it up with Pontiac.
Man someone give me money so that I can buy this series
Okay?
It just seems like so much fun
You used to be able to read it for free on Newsarama, but they rejiggered their site and now I can't find it on there anymore. And the first two trades are only ten bucks a piece. Very reasonable.
I believe if you go to http://hiddenrobot.com/IDAILY you can still read it.
Newsarama just linked to hiddenrobot, which is the site that really hosts Powers, Invincible and the like.
EDIT: You can, but it's temporarily stopped updating, should resume sometime this month
I can't really say I was a huge fan of the first costume but I what I've seen of the new one , meh its not grabbing me either. Maybe it will grow on me though.
I'm going to be interested to see where they go from here. I dig the relationship between Invincible and the Pentagon now - and the fact tht he's growing up...
I cannot even speak of how much I dislike the blue costume...I mean it's just a costume, but it just look so stupid. One of the reasons I like Invincible has been that the superheroes stick to the old-school idea that superhero outfits are supposed to be bright and garish, not edgy and cool. I mean, there is a character whose outfit is bright orange and yellow. Having Invincible drop to a muted, darker tone in clothing just smacks of "I'm too old for the silly colors", and seems to fly right in the face of Kirkman's claim to the contrary.
I really wouldn't worry about it. When issue 50 came out Kirkman did a bunch of interviews with Newsarama and CBR and he said that it definitely wasn't a permanent change.
That is good news, not that I think I wouldn't eventually come to be ok with it, but it does seem to go against the character to have no bright colors in the costume. I hope there is a good story around the costume change.
I really hope Mark gets his money back from Art for that one, it really is a halfarsed design, bring back the yellow cowl, it looks so much better than just blue and black.
That is exactly what I thought when reading it as well, Munch. Only Rogers and Giffen did a better job.
As for the next trade, I dunno. The fourth hardcover was supposed to be out months ago but, like the other volumes in the series, was late and orders for it were eventually canceled.
I think the biggest thing that has kneecapped all Kirkman's stuff has been the lateness. Especially with Invincible, it's gotten pretty ridiculous at points.
Though I'm happy to hear Kirkman has publicly committed to putting out 12 issues of each of his series in 2009. Between the fact he's basically Image exclusive at this point and that he'll be down to 3 monthlies after Brit ends soon, he might actually make it. Which can only be good.

Wow!
Who knew that he actually created the new Blue Beetle before Rogers and Giffen?
Fascinating!
