Woo, eelektrik broke my demoman records by assisting me as a great medic. Admittedly I think I had a better run before my stats corrupted, but that's not the damn point.
Flippy do you ever use the SMG? In my recent trial of the sniper class I've found I honestly have more luck with machete if they get close or noscope/quick-scope shot if they stay mid range. Honestly that gun seems to suck worse than the syringe gun.

I get to the middle point all the time as a lone soldier. You just go up the tunnel and drop down, then immediately rocketjump up the ramps, get on top and grab the health. There's usually nobody there.
Once everybody goes oh noes the point, and if you are a better soldier than I am with a medic and can make a nuisance of yourself, they will pull people back from the second point.
So you follow them.

People need to stop complaining about the new granary.
Seriously, yesterday I was sitting there while it was being held for a good five solid minutes, that last point, against a team that had steamrolled the middle and second cp. There were good long thirty second gaps in their offense three times. Meanwhile, our team is constantly moaning "This is stupid. You can never win this map. They will win." as we keep holding the point. And holding. And holding. None of our team even budged towards the second cp but me during those gaps too.
Here's a newsflash for you. There is a problem with the new granary. It isn't the map though.
I had to keep telling people "We can win this. We can win this." I eventually just kept drilling that into their heads because I know if you tell someone something enough it will get through. We eventually overcame the same team and won on the final round. Pure moral problem there. Your own attitudes were causing you to lose.
So if any of us pushed (which we couldn't because they already had 3 SGs in the center) and we finally got through there, a Scout would have just ran up and got point 2 without any problems.
Asiina said it best: There's needs to be at least ONE more door for Defenders on point 2.
How, pray, would that lone scout kill that turret that can safely cover the cp.
When I say 30 seconds, all our turrets were still standing at that point. The very first 30 second gap, there were no turrets. I know because I was on the point. Completely alone. Needless to say, I got massacred.

his is a silly complaint.
Just so you know.
I don't see you constantly swapping onto the losing side in a stacked team situation. I never, ever see that. Stop being silly. Both sides.
Um...if you look at my stats I'm not the guy that needs to be switching to the losing side in a stacked team situation. I'm not really all that spectacular at the game.
But I have switched to the others side plenty of times if the teams are numerically unbalanced. Even if we're winning (at least if I notice). I'm just not that competitive...I don't get all that invested in winning or losing in this game. I'm there to have fun, while trying to win. The former always comes first though, until I start playing for money.
I hear you. I mean, as long as I get a victory every few rounds or so It doesn't irritate me any if my team doesn't own up all that well to the other side. It's just about having fun. I think the cartoony look to TF2 helps make dying and losing seem less frustrating than it with other PVP games.
I totally no-scoped a scout earlier this evening. It was awesome. I then did some serious Barry Bonds batting practice on the other team. That was more awesome. Thanks for the good evening everyone.
Also, as an engineer on Well. You can do some interesting things if you run straight to the enemy base. Like set up a teleport exit right above their spawn room. That was pretty funny, although I just dropped it and ran. I know a heavy and some other people took it though. I thought it was amusing, lol.
Oh yeah? Well I like the new thread with more arguing! So there!

there's some people that constantly whine about team stacking and it's getting annoying.
people were complaining earlier on dustbowl. i was on the losing team, i looked at the winning teams roster and it wasn't anything spectacular. i told them to play better and they did and lo and behold, the scores evened out and it was a tight match.
note: i don't actually believe my order to play better had anything to do with them actually playing better.
Do people really dislike playing heavy? Every time I join a server we have a few of every other class but no heavies. It's not exactly my favorite class either, but I'll be damned if they aren't useful for punching through enemy defenses. A decent heavy who takes cover from snipers, guards his medic and keeps track of his ammo can be a devastating force.
I got my current high score as medic when me and my friend were playing 2fort on some shitty pub and got fed up with our team being pussies. So we charged in, guns blazing and just steamrolled over the other team who were turtling something fierce. That was probably the best part of any game I've played recently.

With good cover maps I have had good success as a lone heavy running around with shotgun/punch and jumping out onto people spinning up the chaingun in mid air. You just can't use the minigun as much, slowly advancing on people while firing it without a medic. You wont survive. Keep on repositioning and moving around. Surprisingly versatile.
Doesn't work in small games. Soldiers and demomen in a small game toast them. Works best for large games.

3rd part of Dustbowl, we're attacking. The gates open, and I'm just about to head out when I see a spy disguised as sniper appear right behind a demo. Just as the spy starts his stabbing animation, I rocket him up and he hits the ceiling, stabbing nothing. Then another rocket lands right before he does and gibs aplenty.

Looks like you're running into the line of fire whilst doing so. (I also like assuming that it's your shotgun that's falling to the floor, thus further creating a 'dropping everything and getting out of dodge' situation :P)
I have a really good time playing heavy with shotgun and offensive engineer with shotgun.
Basically, anything with shotgun is good.
I like being an offensive engineer also. Shotgun (or scattergun, for scout) + pistol is sweet.
Shotgun doesn't work as well when I'm pyro, since that's my range weapon and when I have to reload, the opposition probably has an actual secondary they can use.
Morninglord got lucky and killt me from about 70 feet away with 2 shots of a crit streak as I was outside the resupply. I got this in return though:
The spy in the background is the best part
Munacra, you must have hated me in that game just now. I'd sticky snipe his engy stuff one piece at a time, running back to heal myself after each one. He'd position his stuff so I was able to hit it from the bottom level at point C. Then after I killed it' he'd just rebuild the stuff in the same place. I basically only wanted to keep his teleporter down, and I did it just by guessing where he'd put it

I love how you can see a spy behind the explosion.
I was wondering where the things were coming from actually. I didn't think of changing things around, because 1) it never occured to me, and 2) there were like 3 of you killing my stuff.
Im surprised I got about 27 teleports in that game, from that spot, at the rate I was rebuilding shit.

Hah, I was the medic in that pic. That got stabbed shortly after by the spy. Good playing with you guys tonight.

It felt pretty good to dominate the best in the other team (you). Didn't even notice that I stabbed you all the time.
At least something I achieved today.
Stupid ass day.
Yea I went on a decent run today. It was a nice change of pace switching from shitty pubs to a good server where a medic can actually get points cause everyone else on the team knows how to play.
At it was a good run least until the medic got stabbed over and over in the last 5 min or so of the round by the same spy.:|
I like this shot of PotU I got after he stabbed me in the back:
I think that was during the smaller game when he cleaned out your entire team that went up top on the middle point. I had been going up there at the start of each match and raining down some death, then you punks send this column of troops marching up the other ramp the first time I decide to stay down on the point. I was all but PotU was all 8-).

First team to cap in SD wins, regardless of previous caps.
Actually, we shouldn't have even gone to SD now that I think about it. Didn't they make it so that on 2fort you only went SD when you were tied in caps? Am I crazy?
So yeah, we still won in my book. And honestly, I think sudden death should be completely abolished and the win should just go to the team that's winning (more caps, more cps owned, etc.)

Yeah, because that wouldn't encourage turtling up (at least when possible) as soon as you were ahead.
Nope. You've got a limited amount of time to complete the objective. Not "complete it more than the other guy." Do it, or fail.
And apparently they didn't make it so it only went to SD if you were tied in caps. Because we went to SD (remember when they took away your guns?). And obviously the next cap wins...because according to the game you lost. Maybe you can snuggle with your "book" at night and dream of a world in which your strategy was a winning one. It ain't this one.
Personally I think SD may some place in the game, but I don't like the mechanics as they are now.

I personally imagined a massive tower of heavies weaving it's way around the map, stacked 9 tall. It would be epic

Now, being a medic supported heavy at a bottleneck while playing defense is some ridiculously fun shit.
I've noticed that pretty much any time a team loses twice in a row, somebody will probably claim that the teams are stacked.
Oh god yes.
Kill after assist after kill.
Dominating half the enemy team.
Listening to him yell hilarious shit in a bad Russian accent.
And the deafening roar of gunfire.

This ass built the sentry right below ground at C near the red spawn. It could attack you but you couldn't attack it.
An engineer built a teleporter up there somehow.
