My contract with them ran out in June of this year, and we switched providers in August. I paid my last TMobile bill, called their customer service, and canceled my service with them.
Or so I thought.
I got a notice in the mail last Friday the 9th, saying I owed $150 and change, and that our service was suspended. Not having a chance to call them, as I work in a bakery and it is Thanksgiving week, I finally got around to it today. Apparently on the 9th the bill went up to $220 and change. The first person I talked to looked at the bill, looked at the usage, which was 0, since the phone's been in the bottom of my closet since August, and said he didn't have the ability to credit the charges so he'd send me to someone who could. That person it turned out also could not, and said she'd send me to their cancellation department which would cancel the service and "do something about the charges".
Apparently that something was to tell me they were not going to refund them.
They say they have no documentation of me ever calling to cancel my service. This is not my fault, yet that somehow falls on deaf ears. The cancellation bitch with through the spiel about how every time someone calls it gets noted on the account etc etc. I tell her this is not my fault, I called, I canceled, it was accepted. She basically calls me a liar in a roundabout way, and says they will not credit the charges and that I should pay them to avoid "collection issues".
So H/A, what the fuck do I do? There's no way in hell they're seeing a dime from me.

Be firm, but polite. Don't get super angry and be an ass..just don't take no for an answer. Explain how your contract ran and out, you paid your bill and that was it. Tell them you're with a new company, that's there no sane reason for you keep it, and never use the line.
The can take off those charges. It's just going to take you complaining until they do.

I don't suppose you have a phone bill showing that you did indeed call them on such a such a date and connected for x number of minutes?
