There are a couple of girls in there as well, or at least they say they are girls ;-)
As for them all being "young" they are the majority but there are a lot of 15+ people playing the game (I know, I'm one of them and I know a bunch of folks my age who also play)
Can you think of many people over 30 who are playing it?
A couple of people on my friends list are over 30, but I don't know if my friends list would be usable as a guide for that. All I can say is that people over 30 do play it, I suspect there are a reasonable amount of them, I'd be suprised if it was more than 5%, and that this is all wild speculation without their official demographics info
(snip)
just my 2p, can do a rewrite if you want it
I'll update it for factual accuracy, I still have no idea if it's any fun, but considering I have no intention to try it out I guess I should delete that sentence.
Thanks :-)
As for the 'is it any good' would you be okay with a "some people like it" type mention? I know I'm biased but that many members don't get got if its as joyful to play as grating your tounge off.
Quick update: Neo Steam is currently unavailable as they "enter beta." I didn't know it wasn't already in beta, but I digress. Was it being handled by Atlus before?

Open beta started today, I just got the email an hour ago, seems to be a billiards MMOG by gamescampus, I checked the site briefly but as usual couldn't find a summary so you guys might want to check it out for yourselves.

Seems like it's actually aimed at people who want to play online billiards. There are rankings and handicaps, but no levelling and no real cash shop (just a membership that helps with ranking and "cuemoney").

Not an MMO for as far as I can see. Did you see the youtube clip? That stuff is ridiculous.

Yeah, upon closer inspection you are right. I saw that it was gamescampus and assumed it would be like Shot Online, which is too bad because I bet it would do a lot better that way.

I honestly can't imagine many people being interested in playing an arcade billiard game on the PC. I mean, I only do billiard half drunk in a pub with friends, none of us would be terribly interested in the game if it wasn't such a great way to decide who gets the night's bragging rights. Among the people who are more serious about billiard I do not think they would appreciate the arcade aspect of this, what with special moves and all.

Now a darts MMO would be awesome. You'd get to create your own hideously overweight pro darter, you start off in smoky pubs in back alleys and slowly work your way up. As you play you get to wear fancier and fancier outfits, you can increase your stats by getting tattoos, reaching certain levels unlock special abilities such as an opening tune (starting with hardly known songs, but eventually you get to have songs like Eye of the Tiger or Born in the USA) and your own wife sitting in the audience showcasing all the emotions your avatar is unable to express through the concentration, beer and layers of fat.
You level up by winning games, you can get exp modifiers by doing hopelessly bad interviews before doing a match. You can get extra cash after you have been beaten by becoming a commenter for the tournament or appearing in commercials for odd semi-legal products.
There will also be mini-games such as bar fights, cussing matches and trying to climb stairs without getting a heart attack.
End-game will exist of dart tournaments and a lot of trying to match your avatar's new found wealth with his humble background.

Anyone playing Runes of Magic here? I've been at it for a week, and I'm having a blast. I'm curious to see if we have a guild or something I can get into.

there is a thread no one posts in, if you want to coordinate please use that thread instead. It's the best way to draw attention to your game.
Free MMOs demonstrate the modern monkeys-with-typewriters theory. A lot of monkeys whacking at keyboards might not produce WoW (Shakespeare), but they may pull off an RO (Rowling) or Lineage 2 (Tolkien).

Oh... fuck you, Free Realms. Fuck you so very much.

Sweet, I can buy a pet!

just to get the message through to you two, my reply is in the appropriate FR thread.
A link would help. Unless it has the world's most obscure title it's neither on the G&T nor MMO forum front page.
Like most PA threads it's linked in the OP (I'm trying to keep up to date with this, but I don't keep track of GnT enough to see all threads), I also posted the link a few posts above yours in reply to someone else. You could have also done a forum search for Free Realms and it would have shown up.
Apparently it's more Diablo-ish. You have a whole bunch of characters and if you die more than three times in a given instance, you can use that character and imbue it into a weapon or something. Content scales from 1-5 players and there's a load of loot. Also meant to look good and run well on slow machines. Haven't played it myself.
Edit: Reading elsewhere it appears you get a single piece of loot at the end of each dungeon. Lame.
Is it in a new beta or something? I played the first closed beta and it was very lacking. I mean, it was very early so only about half the characters were even playable, but the fact was that there were no drops, you had a set amount of hearts (HP) per level -- which made melee classes a huge pain since you just had to take hits -- and pots had to be bought with real money.
It launched. From what I've read I'm not going to bother.

Looks like Endless Ages is dead. It was an MMOFPS that didn't appear to have many people playing.
Wiki has this:
Endless Ages is not available in any form. The game went off-line in February 2009. Jason Lee Chambliss, the former player who purportedly bought the rights to the game has issued no public statement about whether or not he will re-launch the game, Endless Ages' future remains in limbo.
Also, going to the site gives you nothing but a "buy this domain" type of page.
I gave it a try some time ago, and while the graphics were very primitive I could see where it might have been fun if there was anyone actually playing.

t Crapfestival: also check out Free Realms, it has a whole lot less grinding going on. Or check out Perfect World, for something slightly less girly.
I barely play and mostly just cook or race but my name is Manu Stonehammer in game if anyone wants to play with someone their age...

Or see http://www.neosteam.com/ for a list of all publishers.
But I trust Atlus the most, so it's worth noting that they're going to have a beta test pretty soon.

I just picked it back up myself; I haven't done very much yet but I think I'm going to use it as my casual, go-to game when I have spare time.
I'll probably be updating the OP of that thread sometime soon.
