we got rid of turkey for thanksgiving

in favor of delicious succulent ham
We usually have ham for christmas dinner.

At thanksgiving... my mom cooks chicken. fucking baked chicken breasts.

and she's not a very good cook, so they're really dry. really, really fucking dry.

As much as I love ham, even I will forsake it for the, uh, sake of having an awesome traditional turkey dinner on Thanksgiving.

Usually though, I just have ham with the turkey.

i dunno my family is not big on tradition i think we did a fish fry last thanksgiving
That would piss me off. I hate fish.

Actually I've never had duck period.

    Real greasy, real fatty.

Duck is absolutely delicious if prepared right.

I like duck. It is quite greasy, but the thing that I like about dark meat is, essentially, the fat content. So duck's great.

I keep meaning to try deep fried turkey some time, but, I also don't want to set my house on fucking fire and don't feel like building a pulley system to put the turkey into the oil safely like Alton Brown did.

    Turducken, Chicken, or Ham?

Keep in mind, This is only for 4 people, and the left overs will only be eaten by 3. If I make a turducken, odds are it would be 10-15 pounds and be enough to feed 20 people.

Decide for me SE++. Make your choice!

Make a turducken. It's absolutely delicious.

Give the leftovers to the poor, or something.

That dish requires at least 12 animals to die (the 10 birds, plus a pig and another goose for the stuffing).

    It looks delicious.

I support this thread, because I can't stand my mom and we almost always get into a big argument during the holidays.

Also I have had duck and turkey seperatly, but never together. I must have this someday.

If you are good as you say a turkey should suffice.

But that Turducken sounds like some delicious overkill, and delicious overkill is the best kind of overkill.
