Assuming you're referring to old WoD, I prefer playing Vampire, because Werewolf and Mage tend to get reinterpreted into massive powergaming ("Look, Prime 5 and Life 5, you don't exist! And I spend a WP so Paradox doesn't affect me until we're done anyway! HAHA!"), and I've got a horde of interesting characters, including Jenny the Evil Cheerleader, a Malkavian with delusions that she's feeling the pain of everyone around her psychically and occasionally tries to commit murder to alleviate their suffering (She doesn't tend to last long unless her coterie keeps her in line...), or my knowledge-obsessed Tremere who's never going to advance in the hierarchy because he's naive and so bent on learning above all else that he's a great researcher and the like but he continually gets ignored by the higher ups.
For Werewolf, I've got a Stargazer Galliard I'm in love with named Jonathan. If we're including Fera, I've got a Pumonica named Ryannokaris (Karis for short), a Brazilian girl sent north as part of an "exchange program" in a game set in Philadelphia. She was just the right blend of near-sociopathic (What do you mean I can't kill them? They're Wyrm-tainted. So what if they're students... if they were learning anything important, they'd be resisting the taint.") and quirky to make her entertaining, even if I only played her like, three sessions or so. And then there's Gabriel, my Glass Walker, whose mother apparently started dating a Bastet and whose first pack mission involved watching a girl get sucked through a cieling and demonic girl scouts.
For Mage, I suppose I'd have to go with Braeden, my Orphan with Arcane 5, specializing in Spirit, Mind, and Prime. He was a little fucked up. Actually, he was a lot fucked up. He's got a supernatural Geas that prevents him from raising his voice, ever, but as a tradeoff, he never, ever has to sleep and he's crazy enough not to care. He's obsessed with the dead, beliving that the veil of death hides the truth of Ascension. He helped another character start, run, and control a cult, because he secretly believed if he could make the cult large enough and then kill them all in one massive suicide/homicide, he could tear a temporary hole in the Shroud and make himself exist in both worlds at once with the power of belief and the death-flavored Resonance and Quintessence he could harvest from a mass-suicide/homicide.
It should be mentioned that the guy playing the cult leader will only find out about this if he reads this thread. *L* I guess I shouldn't also mention that Braeden intended to mind-control the cult leader into suiciding with all his followers too...
If you mean the NWoD, I prefer Werewolf. I just like the idea of being a powerful hunter who guards his territory from hostile spirits and everyone hates him for it.
I never played the OWoD, but Orpheus seemed pretty awesome.

I had a Brujah character in Dark Ages that was a jester. He had a butt ton of dex and str and reasonable stamina. He had a lot of acrobatics, throwing, fighting skill. He was ugly as sin, but pretty personable and witty. He had a compulsion flaw that made it so basically, anytime I thought of something "funny" to say, I had to say it, in character, damn the social consequences. Despite that, with some creative roleplaying, and lucky rolls, he did fairly well in the few social events he went to. He had 4 dots in languages, with the cursing specialty. His name was Puchinello.
Orpheus was the best thing to come out of the oWoD.
Put down the Mass Effect. Though admittedly, Elkor etiquette may be appropriate to message boards.
In response to the OP, I have to say that Vampire is my favorite of the three to play, not because it is the best, but rather that it is the easiest to run and play. Coming into Vampire, every player knows their role and what it means to be a vampire. Not so with Werewolf or Mage.
Edit: In other words, one of the key components of a WoD game is maintaining a sense of direction. That is easy to do in Vampire, and not so much in the other two games.
Though frankly, if I could play with a really good storyteller, I think Werewolf would be the most fun to play. It really gives you the sense of being on the side of good in a "World of Darkness" (pun intended ), and the entire mechanic of the game heavily supports the party mechanic. The other games almost pit the players against each other, by comparison. Unfortunately, I only know of one or two GM's of that caliber, and neither of them likes WoD much (albeit mostly because of bad experiences with "hardcore" WoD players).

Oh well.

Probably wouldn't've turned out since the cult leader was a Mind specialist.
But y'no.

I'd say Demon was, but Orpheus was a close second. End Game was so awesome.
