Think about it. Do you really want the Infogrames of today attempting to revive X-Com? Hell, even the Infogrames of a few years past.
Fuck, just a simple repackaging of the games to run on current systems would have been nice. I know you can play X-com on current systems now, but I think you have to use dosbox. But there are other issues with it no? Just an update so that all we have to do is install and go.
They released TFTD on Steam. why not the rest of X-com? Or they could have finished X-Com: Alliance, the FPS version of X-Com. Maybe it would have stunk like Interceptor, sure. But it would at least be nice to have the option of playing it and finding out for ourselves!
Well, Atari started to die during the whole E.T. debacle, which according to that article was a decision made by his corporate overlords (Warner Bros.).
I actually convinced myself at the age of seven that that was a good game, even though I needed a strategy guide to figure out what the hell was going on.
APB would rock as a remake, imagine something of a cross between Crazy Taxi/GTA. Plus, they'd have to keep the police brutality interrogation mini-game. They could flesh it out a bit, let you go all guantanamo on suspects.

I thought APB was being made into an MMO by some ex-GrandTheft people.
Wait, Infogrames bought Microprose? The guys that made Air Duel? That game was the fucking shit back in the day, and a buddy of mine used to play with me over our 56k modems.
edit: Turns out Air Duel was only published by Microprose. Oh well, the point still stands that it was awesome.

There is APB being made by RealTime Worlds (the Crackdown chaps), but I don't know how much of an MMO that is, or how much relation it has to the original.

Ever since ray kassar, Atari was never the same. That is when atari started to die. And it has been a long, slow, miserable death since.

I was fairly sure that it was the Infogrames version, but now I'm less confident.
