After an entire years delay, Sony has finally released their PSP Store.
HERE's the link, just choose which country you're from, set up an account and you can download/buy some content.
The US Store comes with the PS1 games from the PS3 Store, Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow and SOCOM: Tactical Strike demos, a few official themes, a brand new multiplayer-online downloadable game, Syphon Filter: Combat Ops (which I'm guessing is the online mode from Logan's Shadow) AND a downloadable version of Wipeout Pure.
The Euro Store... Doesn't have much new content... At all... There's the PS1 games from the PS3 Store, some old demos and that's it. Hopefully Sony will add new content weekly, much like they do with the PS3 Store.

Not only that, but it has to be hooked up to a Sony HDTV.
no you access it on the PSP and download. you only need the PS3 if you download a game from the playstation network store on the PS3
There appears to be a PC downloader that lets you take the stuff from PC to PSP.
I'm assuming that if I buy games now, and then end up getting a PS3 later, I'm not going to be able to tranfer them over, right?
Might be a bit premature, but I'd like to know.

-I can't get that link to work, it's telling me I should be viewing it from a PC. (Which of course I am)
You can freely transfer between the two. Heck I have Castlevania loaded on my PS3 and PSP
I think the problem they have right now is fact that games like Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, and Resident Evil 2 have two discs or more so they have to figure out how they will handle disc swapping or how hard will it be to rework the game to read 2-4 discs of data off one file.
Why even bother, then?
Oh shit, that's a very good point.
Guess I'll be waiting a while then.

Nothing you would care about.
Edit: By "you" I meant K_A and his loveable, ludicrously narrow tastes. Not being negative here.
This is exactly what I was thinking.
Portable Crash Bandicoot would be awesome.
Well, it's there, so wish granted.
Haha. Cute.
I wonder how often they'll release new games for this. How often should I keep checking back?
Cool!
Apparently my wish was instantly granted by the great Genies of Sony...
Portable Silent Hill please! (I'm talking silent hill 1... not origins.)
PSN ID : HBoxx
Origins is excellent, by the way. But I agree with you.
Sadly, Crash and the original Syphon Filter are the only two games that appeal to me on that list. Twisted Metal 2, maybe, but I never really could get far in Head-On, so I think I'll pass on that.
I'll probably get Crash when I get paid next.
I'm a wipeout slut, so I'll probably pick up the original Wipeout along with Crash. I own Syphon Filter myself so I'm passing on that. Hopefully they expand the store with due speed.
???
but being pedantic is so fun
The PS Store account you create can be used with the PS3 and PSP Stores, so yeah, you'll just have to re-download it to your PS3. The same goes the other way, you can even download PSP demos (and games I suppose) onto your PS3 to store them and then transfer them to your PSP whenever you want to play them.
Not only that but the account you create at the PSP Store appears to be exactly the same as the PSN accounts you create, so if you want to book a name for your PSN account, you can just create a PSP Store account. For example, if you wanted to use the name Evander when you eventually buy a PS3, you just create an account with that name on the PSP Store and then when you get a PS3, you'll be able to log into that account and use it.
Anyway, here are the games available on each store (I'll add them to the OP as well):

I won't bother listing the Japanese PS1 games (because there's a lot) but they've got some pretty awesome games on it, including Resident Evil: Director's Cut, Dino Crisis, Alundra 2 and a bunch more.
Hopefully now that they've got the PSP Store online, they'll release pretty regular updates and include more third party games.
YES.
Nothing else on there would be much fun on the go, really.
I was reffering to having these on the PS3.
Not to mention that many of us just paid 30 bucks for portable SotN a few weeks ago...
Well, if nothing else, getting it this way will save you having to complete a completely random and arbitrary challenge in order to unlock SotN.
And, on that note, can Europeans access US content, or are there street/billing address things that need to match up?
(I can't check from this computer.)
