Is it just me, or are there a crazy-ass number of GOOD games out this year?
I know November always has this massive release push, but it seems to me that this year and, to a smaller degree, last year marked a large amount of top-notch, long-awaited titles that made Novembers past seem pale in comparison.
Am I just getting old, or is it really a lot worse (or better, depending on your perspective which likely involves a mixture of your disposable income and disposable time) than it's ever been? I feel...crushed under the weight of all this excellent shit.

I feel like this might become another "What are you buying this month" thread, but I have to agree, November has seriously raped my wallet. Badly.
It's tough trying to justify buying myself this much stuff this close to Christmas.
And it's not like it's just one platform, either...it's pretty much quality offerings across the full range.
And yes, unlike years past, this feels like a particularly heavy concentration of Pure Awesome in a relatively short timespan. I'd say maybe August through November, personally, but still....in a few weeks alone, it's been Galaxies, RE: Umbrella Chronicles, Hellgate, Zack and Wiki, Phoenix Wright 3, Assassin's Creed and Mass Effect...just to name a few.
Stuff is coming out faster than I play the prior stuff.
SO MUCH MONEY.

The worst is when you have either disposable income but no disposable time, or the contrapositive - if you have a fuckload of free time but no cash.
Honestly, I went from unemployment to working 50-60 hours a week. So I went from the latter (free time up the wazoo with no money) to the former (lots of money and no time).
I know this isn't a Philosophy forum or anything, but where the hell do you people get the time to work, sleep, eat, and game?
I was planning to get Army of Two on top of Assassin's Creed and Mass Effect, but it got pushed back to March. First time I was actually happy to see a game get delayed.

I know. I keep reading release lists and saying "Oh, that's coming out in February? Thank God." That's a first for me this year as well.
I'm now completely sold on playing Assassin's Creed. Why haven't I bought it? Because I get Mass Effect this week, and I don't think I've ever completed an RPG in my life, and I'm determined to do so here. I also got Forza 2 the other day, which I'm enjoying and want to put more time into. Then I want to play more skate and film more parts.
The problem, I only really get to play on friday and saturday nights. The rest of the week, the only time I can really get at the tv is right before I go to bed, so if I do play, I'll just be up late and have a hard time getting up for work the next day (which I already do).
I need longer days.
This is a great example of why time stop is the greatest superpower ever (a la Hiro from Heroes). Fuck flight and superstrength and all that nonsense, if I could pause time and just play a game until I get tired or, alternatively, pause time and do my homework/study and then be free to play, not to mention pause time in the morning and sleep until I'm rested, life would be so, so sweet.
Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately, depending on how you look at it), I don't have a 360 or a good computer, so the only thing I've been able to play is HL2: Episode 2 and Portal, with everything on low.

Is it just me or is this the 12th November thread we've had?
Only 1998 has seen better. Ah, 1998. Panzer Dragoon Saga, Grim Fandango, MGS, Half-Life, OoT, RE2 and NFL Blitz on the home consoles. What a holiday season... I think StarCraft came out that Summer, too.

I have no disposable income and no disposable time this November and December.

Then I get home on the weekend, spend time with the girlfriend, and play games when I have time.
I wish there were releases like this all year long.
Or GTA 4, for that matter.
Phew, what a backbreaker that would have been.
Like I might have to buy Galaxy just to kill some time until smash comes out.

Why can't more good games come out in June.
It's got to be way more than that by now.
Maybe if we stop talking about it November will go away.
