Link's crossbow training- with special guest Tingle!

DUN DA DA DUNDUN!

You got the Crossbow! It has unlimited ammo and a chargeable shot. Aim the cursor with the remote and press the B trigger to fire! Hold A to zoom in on your target. Try shooting that red balloon above you to test it out. Oh wait I know that balloon! No wait . . .*shoots balloon* oh crap you're on your own kid.

TINGLE TINGLE KOOLOO LIMPAH!
tingle.jpg

Why hello there Mr. Fairy! Tingle is overjoyed that he has a chance to meet you! Why what an enchanting crossbow that is! It's the very reincarnation of a fairy like me Tingle!

Do you know how to use it? For a modest fee Tingle could be persuaded to teach you.

. . . . .

Oh you'll pay ? Mr. Fairy you won't regret it! 80,000 rupees please.

. . . .

Oh you don't have that much? Oh well Tingle will do this pro bono, but he expects you to introduce him to one of your strapping fairy friends later on.

The Wii Zapper

Personally Tingle doesn't need such devices Mr. Fairy but you seem a bit naive. Maybe you should give it a shot. It might help your aim.

Here's a link(get it oh Tingle is a laugh riot!) to the wikipedia entry :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii_Remote#Wii_Zapper and one for the game proper - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Link%27s_Crossbow_Training

I'll include an offical site link as soon as it becomes available.

Game Types

There are 3 ways to play Mr. Fairy : Target Shooting, Defender, and Ranger. Let's go over them in detail!

Target Shooting
links-crossbow-training-20071012105604026.jpg

As the name implies this is a standard target practice, hit as many targets as you can in the time limit.
Don't miss for a while and you build up a multiplier.

Tingle personally feels that shooting jars, while not building your score much helps you in the long run. In fact hit the jars as often as possible that's an Order from Tingle Sensei.

A variant of this mode is bascally a skeet shoot. Objects are flung and you must shoot them before they fall. Tingle hates this mode with a passion because the targets are far smaller than they need to be.

Defender
links-crossbow-training-20071116113949950.jpg
Oh no Mr. Fairy our backs are to the wall! Surrounded on all sides by overwhelming odds what are we to do?

. . . .

Yes I suppose we can shoot the bitches up.

In defender you have to kill as many enemies as you can in the time limit. Like in Target Practice your score carries a multiplier but the odds are against you so rapid fire is key. In fact, certian enemies will grant you a machine gun like upgrade. Use it wisely. You can't move in this mode but you can rotate your perspective 360 degrees. Tingle can do that as well Mr. Fairy, in a variety of positions.

. . .

Well you don't have to be rude about it.

Ranger-
img_5070112.html

They killed your family, took your home and violated your horse Mr. Fairy.

Time to take the fight to them.

In ranger you have the ability to free roam in the enviroment to kill a specific number of enemies. There's no multiplier to worry about so just find and kill those SOBs. Watch out though you may encounter a few foes that are far superior to their underlings.

Multiplayer

Want to own your friend Mr. Fairy? Tingle can show you how! In Multiplayer you and a friend compete for the high score.
Tingle has no friends though so he can't explain this mode in that much detail. Such is the curse of a fairy.

That's all you need to know Mr. Fairy!
Oh!
You can also unlock Platinum medals for scoring particularly well. What happens if you get them all you ask ?

Even Tingle doesn't know!

Pictures( courtesy of IGN) Mr. Fairy! Tingle almost forgot to add them! Tingle used to own a camera but the authorities took it away.

Can't wait for it, especially now that I know the nunchuk can be disconnected and held seperately from it, not hindering you at all and giving you a nice gun grip to boot.

familyvideo.com has it for $19.99 + $0.99 five to ten day shipping if anyone's interested. They don't ship outside the US AFAIK though so yeah.

I'm curious as to how deep this game is. It looks decent enough, but for that price, plus the free piece of white plastic, you'd think the game wouldn't really be much to write home about.

EDIT: I was a little alarmed to find myself disappointed only the OP featured Tingle, and not the game itself.O_o

Tingle keeps out of Zelda threads (except whether actually relevant, like Wind Waker) and I keep out of Tingle threads.

Cuz then you have to hold it on the other side of your body. For a righty, you're out-most hand should be the left. If it were the right hand, but still on the right side of my body, I can't tell you how uncomfortable that would be after 2 minutes.

it's true. I had to put my right hand forward as it felt awkward using my left hand on the trigger.

I would have hoped that you could change the trigger button to one of the nunchuck buttons so that it is more like a real gun

it is a gun that, for some reason, you hold the butt of.

EDIT: Let me be more specific, as my initial comment looked smart-ass more than anything.

My right hand should be pulling the trigger, and should be the hand closest to me. Yes, I do use the Wiimote in my right hand all the time, but not when it means extending my right arm AROUND the right-outside of gun, and holding my left hand to my chest on the nunchuck like Bob Dole. It's just....awkward.

unrealistic and not very productive. Have you noticed that by using your right hand up front that the motion of pulling the trigger messes up your aim drastically compared to the conventional way of shooting a gun.

EDIT: is it just me or are there too many levels where accuracy and not missing a shot is key for a huge score? Is there something wrong with me cuz I just wanna let them bullets fly like confetti?

Just got this game a few hours ago, and I think it is totally worth the $25 (especially when it's $10 because of an old gift certificate). I'll try the zapper with RE:UC sometime tonight, because I have to return that game tomorrow.
The trigger being on my forward hand did bug me, until I realized I'm not holding it up to my shoulder, but more like a hand gun, where my left hand just happens to be on the butt.
Anyhow, I wish there were more boss battles, because the last two were awesome.
So far my highest score is 141929 on the last level, but I need to put this down because real life beckons, damn responsibilities.
