Damn Ninteno! Releasing all those casual games all the time instead of games for the hardcore! Games like Wii Sports!... well, I guess that's a pack-in, games like Mario Party and... uh... well, other casual games!
Not releasing any games for their core series like Mari- err, Metroi- err, Zel- uh, Battalion Wa- um... How, exactly, are they neglecting us again? The only people responsible for turning it into a "party only" machine seems to be third parties who make mini-game-fests like Raving Rabbids and Carnival Games.
I have 12 games for my Wii including RE4 and Metal Slug Anthology, and recently Mario Galaxy and RE:UC. I don't see any of this abandonment that is supposedly taking place.
Ports=Don't Count
So RE4 and MSA are out. Also, Zelda.
Metroid, Mario, and Umbrella Chronicles are a few examples of good non-party games, thought I'd bet that most of the other 12 games you have are. Of course, if the games you're talking about are cross-platform, they don't count either. Cross-platform games don't really count as points for any system.
The games that tend to be minigame collections are the exclusives. Wii Sports, WarioWare, Raving Rabbids, Raving Rabbids 2, Carnival Games, Mario Party 8 (Granted, the MP series did exist before the Wii), Mario and Sonic at the Olympics (/wrists), Wii Play, Wii Fit, Wii E-Penis Stroking etc..
And then there's the "Hey, let's make a sports game out of Mario" crap like Strikers and Mario Baseball.
And let's not forget overly casual games like Rockstar Games Presents: Table Tennis and 4 different Petz games(I may be wrong on this, but I couldn't fine anywhere in which they were mentioned to be for other systems, so I assumed that they were Wii exclusives).
And then the rest of their exclusives besides Brawl, Mario Galaxy, Corruption, Monster Hunter 3, and Umbrella Chronicles are generally crappy licensed games.
Now, I'm not entirely right on all of this. I've probably left out some more Hardcore oriented games as well as some casual games. But I'd say I have enough evidence to make my point.
Raving Rabbids and (to a lesser extent) Mario & Sonic aren't Wii exclusive. :P
Regardless of your opinions and lists, I have plenty of "hardcore" games on my Wii to satisfy my appetite with room for quality "casual" titles like Wii Sports and WarioWare on the side. So I'm fine here.

ALL of the Mario Sports games except the olympics one started on the GC. Warioware started out on the GBA. Wiifit isn't even out yet!
I'm just saying that I'm not seeing where Nintendo is actively abandoning their beloved long-running series in favor of crap, which is what many people seem to be complaining about. Most of the minigame collections are third party, and many of the games you cited are shovelware. Also, you're forgetting No More Heroes, Excite Truck, FF:CC, SPM etc. The Wii is definitely not just a system for casuals, but it is inclusive. Is that so wrong?
Oh, Nintendo is still making their Mario games and whatnot. But the thing is, for every game like that, two casual/minigame collection games come out. And Nintendo is encouraging the third party developers to make games like them.
Yes, maybe Nintendo did start its conversion to casual gaming before the Wii. But that doesn't mean they're not doing it. On the contrary, it means that they've been planning it for years, and the conspiracy reaches all the way to Miyamoto himself. Soon, they'll control all of our minds using overly cute chibi versions of Samus and Bowser riding on flying twinkies.

Why doesn't Zelda count? It was a simultaneous release. It's not like it was some game you already had elsewhere ported over, it was a new "hardcore" game released for both the Wii and the Gamecube. That's like saying that Manhunt 2 doesn't count as a hardcore game because it came out on multiple systems.
And let's not forget overly casual games like Rockstar Games Presents: Table Tennis and 4 different Petz games(I may be wrong on this, but I couldn't fine anywhere in which they were mentioned to be for other systems, so I assumed that they were Wii exclusives).
Table Tennis wasn't thought of as "casual" until it came to the Wii. When it was on the 360 it was a deep, immersing multiplayer experience.
In reality, this concept of "hardcore vs. casual" is complete bullshit because everybody who makes it thinks that they're hardcore and people who play what they don't play are casual.
Casual and mini- games are by their very nature much easier, cheaper and quicker to create than a full-blown adventure game. It's only natural to expect them to come out faster and in more plentiful numbers than the hardcore stuff we love so much.
So we get more Wii Sports and Mario Party games than Metroid Primes and Super Smash Brothers. Um, what exactly did you expect?
Now once the hardcore games stop coming altogether, you'll have something to complain about. But as of right now, no one's forcing you to buy them if you don't want them, and you have a decent amount of hardcore games to choose from.
As far as the Wii goes, it's been a good console, though I rarely have extended amounts of time to play it. After I beat the Zelda, the longest amount of time I spent with it was the 40 hour block I put in this weekend to beat Metroid Prime and Fire Emblem. I don't regret the purchase, especially since it's unlikely to see a price cut for quite awhile.

That's enough.....that's enough.
If you don't want to like Nintendo, that's fine. But can't we make the same argument about the 360? Look at the "everyone can play" commercials they are currently putting out.
OH NO THEY ARE ABANDONING THE HARDCORE. Get over it, we're starting to migrate to simpler game. It's not all bad.

Zelda can just as easily be played on the Gamecube. I'm not saying that it isn't a hardcore game, I'm saying that it doesn't really add to the Wii's selection of hardcore titles.
Also, Table Tennis? Not casual? What kind of idiot would ever think that it isn't?
And even if it WASN'T a casual game on the 360 (I actually had no idea that the 360 version existed, or I would've included something like Sudoku or Jenga instead), the gimmicky Wiimote controls probably made it that way.

Not want to like Nintendo? Do you know for how many years I was a Nintendo Fanboy? I stuck with them all the from the SNES to the Gamecube. THE FUCKING GAMECUBE
I want to love the HELL out of Nintendo. I want to masturbate all over Nintendo while playing my newest Mario game. But you know what? Nintendo has stopped being what I loved about it. I always liked to have Nintendo games because I always knew what the gameplay would generally be like on a Mario game. No matter how idiotic and gimmicky they made other games, I could always pick up the newest Zelda and play it. But now, Nintendo is the exact opposite. And I hate them for it.
Also, how is it not bad for them to stop making hardcore (Can we think of a better word? I've never really liked "Hardcore") games? Most games that are being lauded as incredibly super badass awesome are things like Halo 3, Bioshock, Call of Duty 4, Assassin's Creed, and yes, Mario Galaxy. You don't see "Generic Wii Minigame Collection #338" getting 10's on all its reviews, do you? Nobody screems "OMG BEST GAEM EBAR!!" after playing WarioWare. Moving away from the hardcore (srsly, let's think of something else) is one of the worst things that could ever happen to gaming.
Also, just because the 360 is saying "Hai guyz, u can play gaem 2" doesn't mean they're actually moving towards the "Casual" end of the spectrum. It just means that they want some of the audience that the Wii has been getting. Now if 2/3 games they release start being minigame collections, then I'll agree with you. But that's not what it looks like right now.

Why are we devoting more than the absolute minimum amount of post necessary responding to an obvious troll? Does anyone seriously think any amount of internet rage will curb his asshat-ry?
I think the idea that casual games destroy gaming is absurd, if Brain Age didn't do it and Wii Sports didn't do it, nothing else for any console will.

Frankly, I've had enough of this "Wii" thing. The only games even available for it are Wii Sports and Zelda, and I beat Zelda in about 6 minutes. I'm gonna sell it right now, because there hasn't been a single game released since those two, nor will there ever be.

Sure it does. I'm not going to not play Zelda just because it's also available on the Gamecube. Just because I could play it on the Gamecube doesn't mean I can't play it on the Wii. And I did play it on the Wii so it certainly counts for me.

If you don't know what you're talking about, how about you just sit back, lurk, and soak it in. If you didn't know about Table Tennis being on the 360 then I'm not inclined to think that you have an especially good grasp of what is and is not being made for the Wii. It's not like it was an obscure game.
The best part is Brawl is totally hardcore. If casuals pick that game up their brains melt.
People getting angry and insecure because something is popular and successful is kind of pathetic.
Wii = Casual Gamer Roach Motel CONFIRMED!
Enough mocking of the stupidity.
So after a 4-5 month stretch of general emptiness, the Wii is having 4-5 month of almost absurd plenty. Starting with Zack and Wiki in October till early Feburary with No More Heroes (and this other little game that I'm not sure you've heard of), there's literally 6-7 titles that I consider must-buys. How do you work out your purchase order?
ANd why do game developers refuse to space out their releases so games like Fire Emblem, Zack and Wiki, NiGHTs et all, aren't buried beneath blockbusters with 2+ years of hype behind them?

I think it's because they feel that if they release it in November, they have a higher chance of some random person buying it for their son/daughter/friend/loved one. But really, they should space it out.

I didn't, really. I got bogged down. I went slow with MP3 and went straight into Z'n'W. Then Fire Emblem hit, and I tried to get as much done as possible, but not a chance. Then Galaxy hit. I also still want to try MoA after all the good input on it, the new trauma center, and RE:UC.

No. I don't think that at all. Overly complex controls don't improve a game. Which is actually why I generally hate motion controlled games. They try to force it down the games throat that every other thing you do has to be some kind of waggle or "Move directly upwards in a vertical line without making any movement that even seems to be to one of the sides".
Actually though, I think you do have a point. I'll concede to you that motion controls don't always make a game gimmicky and stupid. It's just that they usually go together, even if they don't (always) cause each other.
Also, motion controls rarely make a game more accessible, and the "fun" thing is a point of personal preference. And I know a helluva lot of people (Offline generally, but oh well) who would say that it makes it distinctly un-fun.

For the record, Mario Sports games started before the GCN generation. Mario Tennis and Mario Golf were on the 64 and GBC and were fantastic. Best four game run Camelot ever had.
Also, the Wii has had the best first year of any console ever. Yes, better than the GCN with Smash and Metroid, better than the Dreamcast with SA, Soul Calibur, and the 2K games, even better than the SNES with its legendary load out.
The 360 had a decent one, the PS3 had a pretty good one but with few titles far between. I've never had so many quality titles year one. If Smash had come out it would have been unassailable.
Heck I'd take the Wii year one over two years of the 360 and one year of the PS3. In fact that's exactly what I did. People who don't think the Wii has good games is crazy. Look at all the "but that doesn't count" detractors have to put on to discredit the system.
Oh shit, Halo 3 is so awesome that I can randomly go online and face someone in seconds. Man, that's not what I've been doing since this summer with Strikers or PBR at all. Sure, its not as full featured as live, but at least I'm not paying money for Peer to Peer.
I also love it when people say "so and so game can't be done on the wii" when they are just talking out their asses. None of this current generation has done anything spectacular with either physics or AI that couldn't be done on the Wii. Sure, I'm no fool, I know it won't look the same, but it sure as shit will play the same or better. Look past the graphics for a second and notice how smooth the framerate is on most high end Wii games. 60 FPS locked in. MP3 and SMG are especially silky. Fuck Mass Effect and Uncharted with their hiccups and frame tearing. You're really underestimating the talent of the various development houses. I guarantee if sales continue as they are right now you'll see a lot of games you never expected on the Wii.

I envy your superior purchasing power.
That tends to be my problem too, I'd want to go through a game as slowly as possible, and as a result, I'd miss out on some other releases that I probably should have bought.
What I don't understand is why, when you know your game is a niche title (that's you Trauma Center), why would you have it compete not only for customers, but for shelf space with things like Galaxy or Smash or Mass Effect or what not. And when you balance out the amount of random purchasers you gain from releasing it at such a time vs. the amount of consistant audience you lose because they can't afford to buy both the AAA title and the niche title, is there really a net gain?
Just an example, but Tales of Symphonia and Baten Kaitos for the Gamecube were released in different times. One came out by itself in July, and the other went head to head vs. Resident Evil 4. Tales did a lot better. Examples like these are common, do Videogame companies simply not study buyer habits?

I didn't get into the "Actually caring about all of this" bit until recently. Specifically, after I got my Wii and wanted to kill myself over it.

I bought a Wii last December. It was a birthday present, but I earned it by camping out at Best Buy, and listening to one of the most obnoxious and damaged people I've ever met talk for hours. About things like how she smoked marijuana during her entire pregnancy because she knew it wouldn't effect the kid, and how Heroes is the greatest TV show ever.
It's a rad little console, but I got it at a weird time: over the last year, I've almost completely lost interest in videogames. Over the course of the last year, I've had the shit kicked out of me by school, work, and more than one girl, and I haven't had the time, nor desire to sit down and play a videogame for more than an hour or so in any given week - if that.
I played through Twilight Princess only once, and reached pro status in both Bowling and Tennis, and I still take my Wiimote over to a friend's house any time there's a bunch of people getting together to play, but I don't play on my own. I went halves on Guitar Hero III with my dad (who is addicted to it now), and couldn't even get into that.
I love the Wii, but I just ended up not getting into it like I should have. I don't blame the lack of interesting games - though to say there isn't one is just silly - just maybe the fact that I'm (sadly) outgrowing videogames.
All that having been said, I'm fucking impressed with the Wiimote, all the Wii channels, and the lengths Nintendo went to in designing a truly fun, family-friendly console. The little thing is brilliantly put together, and I wish circumstances would have allowed me to fully enjoy it.

I'm going to save this post so in 60 years, as we sit in our hover rockers, I can bring it up on my wrist computer and we can have a good laugh about how fucking insane you were.
You're behind the times old man, wrist computers were only hip 30 years from now!
I think the Wii is actually a system I enjoy playing, personally. I own a 360, and have Dead Rising, Lost Planet, Test Drive: Unlimited, Enchanted Arms, Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth, The Darkness, and Perfect Dark Zero. One of them (Dead Rising) I played the living shit out of. The Darkness is the only other game I could stand to play until the end. The rest were so very meh, that it soured my tastes. I'd rather play shooters on my PC. Most every other game I see on the 360 seems very boring to me. Sure they're pretty, but I'd rather enjoy myself than think "holy shit, look at that bloom!"

Get Oblivion. If you have ANY interest in RPG's or hack'n'slash adventure type games, you'll love the hell out of it. I didn't play ANY other game for a month after I got it. It's that damn good.
Be careful though. The 360 version is glitched all to hell and will cause you to freeze and have your game deleted every other second.
Which is why I prefer my PS3 version.

I picked it up on the PC. At first I started a warrior, but got incredibly bored with it... Came back a month or so later and started a mage. Put in about 30+ hours and beat the game. It's great, but it felt really lonely at times.

I've been playing this forever now. I've got two guys, one lvl 36 and the other lvl 39. One is a "Good Guy" warrior type character that also uses Destruction, Restoration, and Conjuration in addition to his melee skills. The other one is a "Bad Guy" assassin guy. He also uses Conjuration and Restoration, just because I love those two mage schools.
I'm the leader of any given guild/faction with at least one of my characters. I have some incredibly awesome equipment. I've done almost all of the side quests.
All in all, I'd say I probably have several days of play time on that game.
And you know what the best part is?
I haven't even started on the main story yet. XD
EDIT: So I guess my point is, did you only play the main storyline? Because the absolute best parts of that game were probably the Guild Quests. Especially the Dark Brotherhood.

Awww... My evil anime mask guy picture doesn't work. ;_;
I made the guy good, and did many of the quests. I think I finished the Warrior one and the Mage Guild ones. The Dark Brotherhood stuff is the evil things, right? Where you have to murder some people, and talk to the guy?
The moment I found myself bored with the game, I started going through the main storyline, just so I can at LEAST say I "beat" the game. Even though there's no real way to beat the ginormous game.

I think I'm actually pretty close to beating it. Just the main storyline and a few side quests and I'm done. That, and I need to trade in my current version of it to get the GotY Edition. That way I can play Shivering Isles as well.
Of course, I have Assassin's Creed now, so it'll be a while before I get back to it.

Way to be wrong about a game you've never played.
Edit: Dang, posts pile up fast here.
EDIT:
I think the idea that casual games destroy gaming is absurd, if Brain Age didn't do it and Wii Sports didn't do it, nothing else for any console will.
Wait, what? Even if it wasn't casual on the 360, motion controls automagically delegate it to the same pile of shit as Carnival Games? Where does this logic come from? Motion controls make the game for accessible and fun, not any less technical or "hardcore" in the end.
By your definition any game which doesn't have controls like this:
Isn't worth your time?
The stupidity in this thread is astounding.
People getting angry and insecure because something is popular and successful is kind of pathetic.
Also, why am I bothering? Jesus, arguing this with Nintendo fanboys is actually pretty crazy.
Oh well, I guess I'm a masochist. Better go buy some leather undergarments and a gag-ball.
This is a forum. Specifically a GAMING forum. Everything here is stupid.
Of course, that argument could be made for the entire internet as well.
If I had a nickel for every time I've heard this said.
I'm going to save this post so in 60 years, as we sit in our hover rockers, I can bring it up on my wrist computer and we can have a good laugh about how fucking insane you were.

Hey, I just noticed this.
I really don't know that much about the game. I know a bit about the previous ones, but not this one.
But every review I've seen for it was pretty crappy.
Clearly you're looking in your own ass... errm... somehow.

Then on this point I stand corrected. I guess I was just unlucky enough to find the 4 or so crappy reviews it got.
