Reminds me of when I camped centurio x-i for my shamans cloak. I think I wa 1/7 trying to get it for my blm alt job. For the longest time I had more enfeebling than my elemental skill because of my enfeebling merits from my rdm main =p.
I had a pretty sweet mana burn set party till couple people went drama crazy and it broke up

OK, I have pretty much capped my skill on bone arrows. There is no way I can make the next arrow, so I have to make bronze bolts for crossbow to bridge the gap. I can't make the bronze bolt heads yet though, so I have to up my smithing first. I think it will be a while before I level anything again. I'll be too busy collecting crafting materials.

I can't seem to get this Mog Toolz thing to work. After you apply the settings, you need to point it to the .exe that launches, right? Would that be the pol.exe?
If it is, the problem is that when I run it, I get a message saying that my system doesn't support 32 sounds playing at once, it supports only one.
So what, only one sound effect going off the entire area? Say what?
I once (looong time ago) partied with a RNG/NIN in Yhoator. His /ra macro had a /p line that said something like "This shot cost me X gil, lol"
He had a similar macro for Utsusemi. Thankfully he had both macros in a non-/p version so we didn't get spammed with it.
what server you play on? guy named shamanking on my server had the same macro =p

So as a joke I made a Link Shell with the name "Elitists", and gave a pearl to a member of my real linkshell. He says to me "I want a sack." so I gave him a sack of pearls on a whim. Now I find out he is selling the pearls for 5k a month to give his "subscribers" weekly fishing tips.
It boggles the mind.

Mog Toolz has been giving me trouble lately, too; I can't get it to run through my launcher.exe for the Windower. I tried looking online for information, but it seems like the Mog Toolz creators dropped the project in 2006~, so one of the newer patches might have broken it?
In any case, I just uninstalled it and I'm rolling with the normal FFXI Config to adjust my graphics. If you want to go into your registry and tweak the settings beyond what they're "supposed" to go (like Mog Toolz does), this is a good link that'll show you what to do.

This guy on my server has been doing days and days of camping to get the Warmonder Quadav, the one that drops the Turtoise shield. I wanted the shield too, but then he explained that out of 24 hours, he camped it for 15 3 days straight, and still no sight of it. it's a 21-24 hour spawn, so seems to me like someoe's killing it while the guy's sleeping or something.
poor guy.
Sent him a tell last ngiht to see how it was going. He spent another 15 hours the next day and 7 hours earlier this week, still nothing.
I don't understand how some people can be so patient.

If you aren't even seeing the NM on a 24 hour spawn you need to change the time of day you are looking. This seems obvious...

I don't enjoy it, and I would rather not camp Mee Deggi or Quu Domi. But how can you say no to +20 Attack and +3% haste?
It seems that the only monsters worth camping are those that drop seriously powerful items (relatively), and that ensures that they will be heavily camped... *shrug*

He was also my tour guide when my set CoP group finally got into sea =p
He is playing WoW with like 10-15 of my old linkshell mates, I considered playing with them, but they where horde and all my real life friends where alliance. Plus they are playing on pretty much a dead server >_<

I looked up strategies for the trial-size avatar quests and oh boy
One-on-one, capped at 20, hella expensive (for me, anyway) consumables pretty much required
Perhaps I should abandon Summoner and work on White Mage until that's high enough to do the high-level avatar quests
