Regional lockout on PS2

I have a region 2 PS2 which i play my DVDS through and have noticed that several TV series I want to buy have only been released in region 1. Is there any way of breaking the regional lockout on my PS2 or am I just going to have to buy a region free DVD player to do this?

Edit:Note to the mods: If this is illegal in Britain feel free to lock my thread.

    Just buy a region free DVD player. They cost pennies. Tesco (or whoever) sell them as commodities, like milk or something.
