By cheap I mean completely free with online resources.
From other forums (ubuntu etc..) I've decided to start with Python.
About me:
Grasp concepts quickly if they are explained in detail and not glossed over.
Rudimentary math skills (working on this)
TONS of free time.
Understand basic programming ideas, Variables, if/then, statements,
What would the experienced programmers here recommend for a guy who can't really afford books at the moment but wants to get started with Python. I see that there are many many tutorials but I want to choose the right one(s) that will teach me good fundamentals.
Mailing lists and forums (like this one!) where I can ask stupid questions would be helpful as well
