What would be some good co-op video games for a dad and daughter (age 8) to play together? One we played before and liked was Harry Potter Goblet of Fire.

Xbox? or Xbox 360? Lego Star Wars is great for kids of all ages and is funny enough that even non-star wars fans will enjoy it. It's been a family favorite for us.

Seconded for Lego Star Wars. Great game in general and anyone can have fun playing it. Another good game(s) are the arcade classics collections.
Edit: Nrthstar, a guy in my Halo 2 clan had the gamertag Magical Hateball. That's pretty much it.

I'd like to see ideas for the Xbox 360 - especially for 4 players on one console.
