Eliminator was pretty god damn boring and insulting to the original eliminator. Fuck, the last part with the ramp, use to be at a such higher incline then the one is now and they now have a fucking rope with it. At least the one in the nineties looks to be more tougher. They must be going along with the lazy American approach.
I was gonna say, I didn't remember the rope being there.
The wet climb really saps people, it seems. Unless you are a fuck you bitch Marine who just won't stop even if her brain is coming out of her forehead.
I thought the rope was there before, like laying on the side of the track for bitches who couldn't make it up
I think the difference was the conveyor used to be first. It's probably a lot harder to run at full speed up a conveyor belt on an incline when you're already exhausted.

What the eliminator is missing is the gladiator at the end that would block your way with a padded shield.
I've always thought it was a bit odd that the one event that actually decided the whole game pretty much had nothing to do with Gladiators, and now they are completely removed from the equation.
It looks like the swim and rope climb really saps people, which is understandable. The fire probably sucks away a shitton of oxygen so everyone is running on empty by the third obstacle

It's that net more than anything. It hangs loosely so it's like climbing the rope in gym class only without someone to hold it tight for you which is a fucking bitch.

It really looked like people were trying to climb with their arms instead of their legs, and that's why they were so whipped on the handbike.
Then they have to lug their exhausted asses up that 30 foot soft padding climb and then try to climb the moving incline? That is pretty hardcore.

See since it hangs loosely you can't use your legs too much because you push the net out from under your ass. It's not tied down to the bottom so you can't really use it like a rope ladder. As for the handbike, that is a bitch too. From what I remember in the original it was pretty rare for people to be able to cruise through that. Most usually ended up dropping.
I was kinda hoping that when they busted through the blocks at the end they landed in a pit of Gladiators, just all of them standing there with foam blocks on their hands. And then the contestant would have to run to the finish while getting pummeled, rather disappointed.
I also feel like they should pull the camera back a little more than they do, especially on Joust (speaking of which didn't the platforms used to be further away from each other?)

The parts of the Eliminator actually changed each season. The treadmill started out being first, and then eventually, it was moved to the end, but slowed down.
They really seem to be having a much harder time with the handbike than I remember though.
Because that used to be right at the beginning, right after the weird pumping escalator thing, so they weren't completely dead by the time they got to it.
Crush is amazing. Man I'd like to go one on one with her any day.
I thought it was pretty funny how that douche (the one against spider monkey) was getting his ass beat by wolf. Especially on the pyramid. Ha ha ha they were after him all night.
Didn't one of the guy contenders punch a gladiator in the face? My sister said that happened but I didn't see it?
Yes, this guy who made a point to tell us over and over that he was supposed to be on the original Gladiators program but missed his flight. He was a total douchebag and it was awesome seeing him lose to Mully.

They were all pretty much douchebags. The broads were fucking annoying. It was funny to watch old guy cry in the end though.

Moli was pretty cool. It was hilarious watching him get manhandled on Pyramid, though. He was doing his best to avoid getting touched because he knew he'd just get tossed around like a rag doll. I thought it was pretty smart of him to try to get the other competitor in the way of the gladiator trying to take him down. Just kept crossing back and forth, trying to trip him up.

This was also the same strategy that the firefighter used during that ball event. He waited until the skater got tackled by the gladiators and snuck around to score an easy two points, which is how he ended up getting 10 more points than the other guy
Honestly I hated them all except that ex-Marines chick. Of course she busted her face open on the fire tubes and bled all over her face which slowed her down and cost her a win.
Spider monkey fag dude getting tossed about like a plaything by the ubernazi was pretty hilarious, though.

I'm glad to have a show like this back on tv. But predictable tv show producers.. why do they feel they need to improve things by adding rapid camera movements and constant close-ups? And did you see where they added in pretend video from the competitors perspective? Camon.. you don't need to try so hard to make it feel "intense" it's just confusing to watch.
Obstacle courses and such are fun to watch when you can see everything the person does without interruption. You can see how their body moves and why they failed/succeeded. Stupid camera angles always mess gameplay up.
They seem to not have much room to work in setting up events, especially The Eliminator. Also didn't anyone else find the voice-over, in general, and interviews with Ali kind of annoying?
Did anyone else think that the first set of girls to go thru the eliminator looked like neither should move on? I mean seriously, Venus was so far benhind and then ... whatever her name was, looked like her legs turned to complete jello when trying to move up that thing ...
And assault??? What the hell happened to it?! Oh well, I'm glad that it's back, outta bring some enjoyment to Sunday night
