A while back I stumbled upon a YouTube channel that held a bunch of educational videos. Speeches at some conference or another, with a bevy of cool subjects.
There was one on the economics of AIDS by some lady with a slight speech impediment. She was talking about the incentives vs disincentives of people using condoms in areas with heavy malaria infection as opposed to those without.
Another was about tiger pistol shrimp, and there was a high speed capture of a pistol shrimp hitting a snail. Two hits registered- one when the shrimp hit the snail, and another a few milliseconds afterwards when the crazy hot bubble made by the speed of the attack imploded on the snail's shell.
Another video all about bonobo chimps and how much they love fuckin'.
Another by some Ugandan dude talking about charity not necessarily being a good thing.
Another by some white dude talking about perception of global strife vs the actual amount of famine, death, etc.
Anyways, I've been searching for
hours for these videos to no avail. I remember it was by some institute or another dedicated to "something something blah blah fostering new ideas etc". I
really need to find this website/YouTube channel. It's driving me insane.

It's a bit on the sluggish side, but some of the stuff is not bad.
It looks like they definitely have the first one you were talking about. I'm not sure about the others, but give it a shot.
Thank you seasleepy!
