Ironically, it took me adding ARs as my bonus skill to start using an infiltrator to its full potential. My first playthrough was dominated by pistol use (went for the 'slow fire, fast heat build up, punches a hole through planets' approach), and since they're so good at most ranges, I never switched out.
Having an AR as my main this time (upgraded to geth killer w/ tungsten rounds), means I'm forced to use the SR in some situations (and I perversely enjoy the way it sways all over the place at the beginning. Almost regret putting points in it). The pistol gets saved for special occasions (organic-muncher spec), and since I'm using the menu a lot more, I'm finding myself far more likely to open the other one and throw out a tech grenade or two (I had mad shielding by level 6 by maxing electronics).
All kinds of versatile. I can tank, snipe, support, rape... Yep, good times.
Oh lord, I'm having so much fun as a Vanguard. Biotics and Shotgun FTW. Seriously though, making people fly and squashing them behind their 'cover' crates by pushing them against a wall is hilarious.

Making a Vanguard with Singularity was way too much fun than what should be allowed. Throw a maxed Singularity to suck up every enemy in a 10m radius and then you hit the button called "Carnage". Fun times indeed
Been meaning to ask something in regards to the end of the "Rogue VI" sidequest...
what does that code translate to?

This dying message is an indicator that the Rogue VI was actually an AI of course.. which begs the question as to whether the alliance military was lying to you when they sent you down there. Unfortunately you never get the chance to follow up on it. This also marks the 2nd AI that you kill in the game, the first being
the AI which was stealing credits from the gambling machine in Flux.
I wonder if the impending appearance of the Reapers has anything to do with more machines gaining sentience? Will it happen more in upcoming episodes?
Speaking of sniper rifles I was watching my friend play as his sniper. He found some ammo Explosive Rounds VII, they add something crazy like +500% damage and +500% radius. He threw them on his sniper rifle along with 2 rail extensions and let me tell you it was hilarious watching him fight. Basically there wasn't a single thing that didn't get one shot except for bosses and sub-bosses. Even if he missed a shot and hit next to them it sent guys flying, I remember seeing him shoot at 2 guys hiding behind a barrier, it went through the barrier killed the guy and also sent the guy next to the barrier flying, killing him too. I really wish I would have found those rounds when I was using my shotgun.
If only a dedicated team of writers was even now sitting in a room figuring out the best and most kickassful way to present the answers of these questions to you.
For the record, unless there's a major IP change, we do know the answer, and said answer kicks ass.
I probably love you a little right now.

Quick question... Do you need to be trained in a weapon to get the corasponding kill X achievement for it? I coulda sworn that I killed more then 150 guys with my AR with my Sentinel.

Yeah, late in the game I had all my sniper rifles effectively converted into RPGs with the explosive ammo and some high damage mods.
I started my third playthrough last night. Male Shep Adept, with Sniper Rifles as a bonus talent. Insanity difficulty. Eden Prime wasn't too difficult, but it rarely has ever been. I can see how Barrier and I are going to become friends though (this is my first character with Biotics).
I tried making an adept with sniper skill but the only bonus talents I was given the option for were biotics.. did I do something wrong?

Nope, I did it on my Infiltrator.
Then I started another Infiltrator with the assault rifle specialization. I'm probably missing the point of making a new character.
You know, I love my Infiltrator's setup. I could reroll him with a bonus talent, but I like all the skills I have now, and can't imagine where I'd get the points for the bonus skill.

Did you get the Sniper Rifle Expert achievement on a previous character? (I'm not trying to be pedantic here).

I gave my new Soldier Throw, but I think I've only put one or two points into it. Like you say, there always seems to be something else that needs the points!

No I did not but I see where you're going. Started a new soldier who I'm going to make a shotgun / sniper expert.

Well, all of the following are either maxed or close to maxed:
Anyone know if you have to use it 150 times one play through, 150 times on one character, or just 150 times in general?
Just 150 times in general.
What does First Aid REALLY do, anyway? Just reduce cooldown on / ammount healed by MediGel?
It increases the amount healed every time you use medi-gel. The first aid skills of every character currently in your party stack. Medicine is the skill that reduces recharge and unlocks the Neural Shock ability. Only engineers can unlock medicine.
Gotcha. I thought it was funny that the first point "gives use of the First Aid skill", and yet I couldn't find it on any of the menus for my squadmates that had points in it.

Can't Sentinels unlock Medicine as well, or was Kaiden just a speshul Sentinel?

Medicine is just like First Aid, in that if you use Neural Shock 75 times anyone can unlock it.
Also, is the First Aid skill supposed to appear in your powers menu? Because I have Master First Aid and it's just not there for any of my characters that have it.

Sounds like a bug.
I am playing as a Sentinel with bonus Assault Rifle skill. I have Wrex and Liara as my backup. The enemy never has contact with the ground.
That still doesn't explain why anyone would want to play a Sentinel. Sentinels are pretty, you know, Sentinel.
Next question: where/when do I find the guy spouting Terra Firma dogma?
Citadel, wards, in that little lowered area with the white floor, basically right up the steps if you enter the wards from C-Sec. Not sure when he appears, though. I didn't see him until fairly late in the game.

No, first aid is not on the powers menu. It is permanently mapped to the controller, and the power status is placed next to the squad bars, so it was not placed on the menu as well.
Also, is the First Aid skill supposed to appear in your powers menu?
No. It improves your medigel.
Yeah, I knew that, but the wording was throwing me off so that I began to wonder if in addition to the medigel bonus there also wasn't a skill that healed 140 points (why else list a recharge time and accuracy cost?).

It lists a recharge time and accuracy cost because the medi-gel does have a recharge time and accuracy cost. I wouldn't know how long it took for the medi-gel to recharge if it wasn't for the first aid skill telling me and I probably wouldn't have noticed that it reduces accuracy when it's used.

I have now tried landing on the planet (and subsequently finished the game) and gotten some sweet, sweet blue lady loving.

(I was secretly hoping that some kind of New Game+ mode would let Kaiden die and Jenkins and I could high-five and go out for drinks)

Anyone can unlock first aid. It only requires you use medi-gel 150 times.
I found using medi-gel 150 times to be a lot harder than it sounds.

Apparently they can!

The wording upon placing the initial point in the First Aid skill is deceptive, though.
