Help remembering a movie(s) (SOLVED)

I'm usually movie trivia guy but I just can't remember these two flicks. Both were two different movies from my childhood that are blurry at best. Both had to be early to mid 80's

The first is an action/sci-fi film about a cop or pair of cops. The enemy used a bullet that had some kind of heat seaking device in it and one of the bullets hit one of the cops in the leg, and the other cop had to dig it out before it exploded. That's about all I remember off hand.

The second movie was similar to the hitchkiker (old version with rutger hauer) but more of a monster movie. I remember the killer/monster kept saying something like "Hey lady, thanks for the ride" and tormenting her.

Anyone remember either of these gems?

You are thinking of the 1984 movie "Runaway" starring Tom Selleck and Gene Simmons.

She was hit in the arm BTW.
