Captain Yanmark gets my vote. This game is already evil enough without us trying to make it more painful for you.
Off Topic: Kupi, I believe Earthbound is actually set in the 1950's rather than the modern day. At least, I recall hearing that the setting for the game was modeled after 1950's America, and the way Ness, Paula, and Jeff dress kind of lends credence to that.
No, it's clearly 80/90's America. Some of the enemy designs and feel try to bring back that sense of Americanna, but really, it's supposed to be modern era.
Atm's, Escargot Express, Pizza. A fusion of old and new.
Well, if the Captian gets enough votes, I'll do him first, but if not, I'll do what was voted upon. Like I said in my video, if I can't beat him in a hour of recording, I am gonna say screw it and come back later when I have the boss' weakness weapon to beat him in a vengance video.
Oh, like I said before, he is the easiest boss in the game. You just need to repeatedly slash him with Z-saber. Heck, you don't even need to dodge his attacks.
I wasted time on Flame Stag because I told myself "No way, he can't take that little damage from his weakness. It has to be something not Bubble Splasher.... right?" Little did I know that I was wrong, because almost every single boss in this game takes almost no considerable damage from their weaknesses. I'm assuming I got them all right just due to them repeating moves or stopping moves but man, I might as well have just used the X Buster on them again.
Oh and as usual, guess the music and get a prize. This time it's a hearty handshake.

I remember reading one of the games was supposed to be specifically styled after 1950's America though. Maybe it was the original Mother, or I imagined it.
And Gilder, you did in fact nail all of the boss weaknesses in X2. It's not you're fault that they're completely feeble. They just seem to be used to lock the bosses into a pattern, for most of them.
Also, Gilder...now that we're drawing this LP to a close, what's your next big project? Or can it be shared with mere mortals? I presume too much to ask. :P
I'm taking a break for a month or so to get back in the mood to make videos. Once I'm ready, I'll probably do Plok or something. I'm considering a little thing called "Serious Cave Story" but I have no idea how long it actually is. It's certainly painful though.
I've heard rumors that he is going to play through all the Star Force and Battle Network games, in reverse order, while on an excerise bike and yodeling.

I'd rather quit entirely than do that, and quitting is an option in high consideration right now.

You, sir, have earned a break. Hell, that you continued after Mario 3 is a testament to iron will. I've still got some of the DKC and Super Mario backlog to work off, so hopefully I can ration those out until a new thread fires up. I'm hoping Stage6 will work here at the office once they upgrade our computers, so I can follow SimBen's CT LP. My workdays are just not the same without my steady influx of Let's Play madness.

That would be tragic, as your LP's are of surpassing quality. Having said that, if you're not having fun...what's the point, you know?
Wherein Valkun talks-sorry, rambles for fifteen minutes about his personal life. I may do this every week that a guest commentator doesn't step up muahahaha.
Pick and Name Next Week's Challenger:
Skullman (MM4)
Cutman (MM1)
Woodman (MM2)
Elecman (MM1) Pharaohman (MM4)
Fireman (MM1) Needleman (MM3)
Dustman (MM4)
Woodman next. Also, PM me if you need a commentator next time.
Also, some life advice (as a CS major now in the real world): you probably should have a job before you move to Seattle or California.
As for the capsules, hard to say. Maybe they wouldn't respond to X if he were acting maliciously. It's not a situation that's really come up.
Well, it's entirely possible that the hologram of Light in the capsules is quasi-conscious. In fact, given that it can engage Zero in a dialog in X5, I'd say that's actually the case. So, if X had run amok, the hologram probably has the ability to deny the upgrade to everyone.
Yeah, sadly, Capcom's not been very consistent there.
Still, I really don't like it. It's sort of dramatic but then it also seems like Sigma is just being a douchebag and made X waste a day at the north pole when all he had to do was go 20 miles east and there was Sigma the whole time. I'll say that until that stage, I always felt the urge to keep going. That stage completely killed that urge though. Even when I was playing Pink Panther I still wanted to play. That stage though? I just didn't care anymore because it's so damn lazy. If they just did one thing different, something like having the alarms always active, it would've been so much better. They didn't though.
Maybe that stage is the reason I don't remember X2 at all but I remember everything about X1 and X3.
Maybe, but since it was just a lead-up to the final battles a short way in, I don't think it's any big, and is creative in its own right. I mean, look at X1. Big deep hole. Not going to win any awards, but neat in its own way.

Regardless of whether it's in 1950 or 199X, a setting in which a boy with a baseball bat and psychic powers embarks on a heroic quest to destroy universal evil is decidedly "modern" compared to a setting in which a boy with a magic sword embarks on a heroic quest to destroy the evil dragon wizard, or a setting in which a boy with a laser sword and the Force embarks on a heroic quest to destroy the Sith Lord. That's the use of the word "modern" I was going for.
@Valkun: In my defense, I was more talking about the video-blog style of LP, where the player is talking about themselves or performing a dramatic monologue in Crusade Against Twad Man style. If you're commenting on the game itself, sure, be as spontaneous and you wish. In other news, I'll be a sheep and vote Wood Man.
I apologize for the length of time to stop the video and the mouse icon at the end of the video. My computer is like, ten or so feet away from my TV, and my mouse turns inactive after a few minutes of inactivity. I wish I could edit these videos. Pinnacle is annoying and won't let me record commentary as I play, and Debut won't recognize the Dazzle adaptor. So I have to use Debut's screen capture option on the tiny little screen Pinnacle gives on what my VCR is currently showing, which I have my Gamecube connected to to play X6. If this is unacceptable/unusuable, just ignore the link and I'll re-record tommrow. Or find a way to edit out the icon at the end.
@ASimPerson, do you mean as in find a job there before moving or get job experience first?
The former. I wouldn't have moved anywhere without a job lined up first.
Then again, for me moving to one of the tech hotspots (which, as you said, are California and Seattle for the most part) involved moving all the way across the country (I'm from the south). Perhaps it's not as much of a stretch if you're already west of the Rockies.

I vote you do the mueseum next. I remember the boss being pretty easy, but i also remember some of the reploids being tough to save, so thats something to look out for.

It also helps that Las Vegas has few software development positions and tends to pay less while having a fairly high standard of living. Hell, I could be a Blackjack Dealer and make just as much.
Edit: For on topicness: I vote Iceface for great Shady justice!
But the time has come for me to stop. Thank you for watching, and here's your final videos of mine until an undetermined point in the future. Please continue watching everyone else's videos. Most of them are better than mine.

You have earned your break, sir, but God help you if you don't return.
Gilder, when you said the thing about Zero and X going to go play Volleyball, the first thought that popped into my head was that scene from Top Gun, except Maverick (Tom Cruise, not the renegade robot designation) was X and Goose was Zero.
Such a good movie. Ah, and have a nice break from Let's Play-ing. I know that just doing my one Link's Awakening LP has pretty much turned me off doing another any time soon, so you've gotta be sick of it.
EDIT: Also, rp stands for Raccoon Power. The conversion to horsepower is approximately 17.2 rp to 1 hp. 1 rp is approximately equal to the strength of a rabid raccoon chasing a small child.
Most likely I'll miss making videos in like a week and want to make more. However I have newer stuff to catch up on that I'd like to play as well. So I'd say probably about a month or so of a break will be enough for me. I just feel burned out right now.

MegaMan & Bass: Introduction
Go ahead and vote!
Ice Face
Horn Dude
Ugly Ant
Ice Face. Get ye olde obligatory ice stage out of the way.
I'm voting for Ugly Ant just because I want to see if his design makes more sense when seen full-body.
I'm calling for Horn Dude. He needs to die.

Yeah but not since the anniversary collection was released a couple years ago. I guess that's just the art style they went with in 8.
