360 Non-Problems

So I have a 360 that I want to send back to microsoft while it's covered with the 3 year warrenty and get a 'new' one. The problem with this is my 360 is working fine. Kinda. It won't play Halo 2 cause it always gives me a 'failed to load map' error which seems to indicate a bad disc drive according to what I've read.

So I'm trying to force my 360 to red ring, is that even necessary? Can I just tell microsoft help line that it is red-ringing and get it fixed that way? Will they repair it for the failing drive under the warrenty extension? Is there any good way to force it to red ring? I've got it wrapped in a sweater to try and make it heat up right now.

It a launch 360, or close to it, I got it off eBay so I don't really know, but before they extended the warrenty they fixed it for red rings once before without costing me anything so I assume its a launch.

Don't think you can send in an unbroken 360 to them, they'll just send it back, or repair it for you (but not under the warrenty I think) and make you pay for the repairs, last I heard?

And I think asking how to break/fraud stuff on the boards is a no-no. I think.

I sent my DS back to Nintendo once because the L button would intermittently fail. I got back a letter saying that they couldn't reproduce the problem that I was having but just in case they sent me a new DS.

Of course, that was Nintendo. I dunno, try calling Microsoft or something.

Try wrapping it in a large blanket and running it for 48 hours straight, also kick it.

That or just send it to me seeing as how my 360 died two days ago, and i will then send you mine. Then you can deal with the RROD.

Don't you feel a little bad trying to commit gross fraud?

Well technically my 360 IS broken so no I don't feel bad about it. The disc drive doesn't work, thus broken and I want to fix it. Preferrably for free.

    I have no tips.
But this thread is totally interesting and a riot to read.

Threads asking for help on committing fraud are bad.

If you want to break your 360 so badly why don't you just play it. Seemed to work for the rest of us.
