Well the Verne Troyer commercial is up on the main site now.
They should've had him be a warlock, since there was already a mage one (granted, not in the States, but still...). I thought this one was the weakest. Poo.
Even though I hate gmone rogues it would have been funny to see him as one.
If they get someone to play a warlock for an ad
Christopher Walken would be funny

Nah, it should be Udo Kier. He'd be perfect for a warlock.

Finally getting an alt high-level enough to roll through Dustwallow and whoa is that place loaded with high-XP quests now. Got one paladin over halfway through 39 already, the other one (at 36) is gonna be going through there soon.

One would think you'd get sick of levelling paladins.
I make tons of rogues and warlocks when I am looking for a new server to go to. I counted 5 rogues above level 35 and 7 warlocks above that level as well.
It gets real easy to do it all over time and time again.

Speaking of insanity:
I've put 4 days and 5 hours into my latest character, a human rogue now at level 51.
This is on the test server.
I originally just wanted to see how improved the levelling was when patch 2.3 first became available there. Once 2.3 went live, I fully expected this character to get wiped, but it didn't. My subscription ended, and I could still play on the test server, so hey, why not.
It's been kind of fun playing it like a single player game. Now that people can make premade level 70 characters, it's gotten a bit difficult to survive in places like Gadgetzan, though.
I just went through an account like that to prep it for transfer, deleted everything but the main char (the next closest alt was 48), disenchanted everything worthwile, sold or AHed the rest. Ended up with 700g.
Also; any specific reason they're almost all stuck in the 20's? One alt-addict to another, that is.
All 18 alts were even at level 20. Then I went to leveling them up evenly, then decided to fast-track the paladins instead. All the others have full rest state, but paladin leveling is quick enough, and they're the ones I want up to 70 next anyyway.
Well, levelling does become significantly shitty after leaving Bloodmyst or the Ghostlands. Quest stacking becomes so much harder and rewards are terrible.
I wish I felt like playing one of my level 30ish alts. I had a mage, paladin, and hunter I was alternating around before 2.3, then I decided to twink the hunter a bit and wait to play the other two after the patch. Now there's the benefits of the patch but I look at them and I'm just like "Eh..."
I have a 27 Huntard and 24 Priest, and I'm having difficulty figuring out which one to level. The Priest has been stagnant at 24 for about a year.
The Huntard has a brand new Shiny Armored Boar. This boar needs a name. I'm thinking "PorkPun".
I'm just about finished with Dustwallow on my 42nd level shadow priest/alchemy alt. I seem to recall you start getting the quests in the low 30's but that most of them were orange. It really shines in the 36-42 range. With the exception of a brief runback at 39 to try and clear some STV quests out of my log, this alt has done that range there and it feels like ezmode. Seriously, when the updated James' Guide gets to the Alliance guide that range is pretty much going to read, "Go to Dustwallow. Quest your little heart out."
Additionally, the zone has a bit of the Hellfire Effect when it comes to quest rewards -- you'll be replacing a fair amount of your gear here. It's also been kind to my herbalism skill but I suspect that was true before the upgrade too.
Yeah, I went from 35 to 40 on my pally from dustwallow in about 2 days. And like 4 or 5 hours over two days, not two full days. Course, it was all rested.
Also, once you hit 38, 40 or so, there's always RFD (last boss is now 36) SM (38), and ULDAMAN (40). Seriously, the new Uldaman rocks. Well, at least it is above average now.
Yeah, I thought that most of the stuff they did with older instances was re-itemize the loot. And the loot was never Uldaman's problem; it was the shit they made you go through to get it.
Old Ulda: Entry mobs were level 35, boss was level 50 (and was a "boss mob", meaning +3 levels above, I think). Nothing good dropped until you were about halfway through, however.
New Ulda: Boss mob is level 40. Also, Revelosh, the three dwarves, and the Iron lady all drop blues. And decent ones, too.
Basically, in the old days, a group of level 40s would be unable to complete the place, and anyone higher would have a lot of trouble, but not really get any reward. Now a group of 40's shouldn't have any problems other then the ones they bring with them.
I guess this is part of the revamping of the old world instances, so that they don't have ridiculous level ranges. (18-28 for SFK, for example). But Uldaman's was one of the worst. I guess as a side-effect to that, they also made it easier, which might be seen as "reducing the challenge" of the place. Ah well. They removed most of the main reasons why people hated Uldaman. It isn't that long of an instance when you're moving at a good clip, and not wiping every other dang pull.
However, if you hated it because of its decor, or the fact that it was full of troggs, well, it hasn't changed.
Well, looking back at the loot tables for some of those mobs, unfortunately it is [Boss's Blue] with +sta and +random enchantment. Which can be good, can be bad. Last time I went through, we kept getting gear with +agi, which was good for the hunter & rogue... I suppose if we kept getting "of the whale" I would feel less well disposed to the place. Of course, that mechanic is another issue entirely.

The new quests start in the upper 30's. There's like.... four of them.

I need to come level my Druid on Ravenholdt, and be a nusiance to you peoples. But I suck.
As for the huntard, I guess I'll finish up Darkshire/ Wetlands, head to Shimmering Flats and then do the phat new Dustwallow quests. I just did RFK and got some fancy pants I can't wear yet. And a boar who loves me.
I shall name him "Bore".
I amuse me.
Edit- I remember the first instance I ran on my first character was Deadmines. The second was Uldaman.
That was quite the shock. I'm glad they fixed it, as it's actually a pretty cool place. Just lots of shitty trash and that crazy "Go back to Ironforge AGAIN lolol" questline.

Pardon my inner newb, but don't enchanters have to go to Uldaman to talk the the enchanter who is down in there? I always remember my entire group complaining/asking if we were going by this person. I've never had a high level enchanter, or any enchanter at all, so I don't know what importance (if any) that person has in their profession leveling.

The Jeanne Claude Van Damme one is kinda funny though. It's funny because you can tell he's so desperate for money.
Time hasn't done him well...then again, he is still stories above "OMFG the Russian mafia is after me!" - Steven Segal.
You win again, Norris.

That man's voice gives me spontaneous orgasms.
I still play Red Alert 2 just for Yuri

And they were both level 30 twenty days ago. Slowed down a bit by moving back home, having to be out and about instead of grinding, etc.

24 dwarf hunter
24 dwarf priest
24 gnome rogue
24 draenei shaman
24 night elf warrior
24 human warlock
23 night elf druid
70 blood elf paladin
39 blood elf paladin
26 orc rogue
25 troll mage
24 undead warrior
24 blood elf hunter
23 orc warlock
22 tauren druid

And a level 12 can of Barq's Root Beer.
Barq's has bite.
Nah, it gets bite at 18.

Right, but I have to have the willpower to trudge through 20-33 to get there, and then trudge through 40 to 60 after that.
Pretty much after Dustwallow, A box pops up in the corner of your screen asking "Would you like to be 60? Yes/No"
And you click yes and you are 60.
