    I cannot imagine the dark days of raiding without PallyPower. I don't even like doing five-mans without it.

    Dark days of before greater blessings;

    Five minute single target blessings for a 40 man raid, BoK being the 31 point Ret talent...

    on our first Onyxia kill, the paladins didn't heal, they simply ran laps around the room re-buffing.

    You should have been there for the days of 5 minute blessings. Horrible.

    PallyPower was a different mod back then, but it was all that got me through those dark days.

    Pfft, just imagine five min buffs. Prot was awesome cause you could get 15 min salvation.

    I love how five minute buffs are still a painful note for all pre-TBC paladins.

    We all hated it. Our time in raids was decursing and buffing. And nothing worse then getting all of your buffs done and someone goes "Wait I need to go do reason #9438 for going afk". So you get to do it again.

    I mean.....how??? I never did pre-TBC stuff, so I can't imagine. Did raid bosses take < 3 mins to complete? Or was it like you say -- pallies just spent the whole encounter running around buffing.

    Some did and sometimes we rebuffed. Or you specced prot and did Salv. Back then Ret Paladins were a raid requirement. Cause the bastards had kings.

    Ragnaros was a 4 minute fight, if I recall. Some took longer, but I played Horde so I never noticed :P

    I only raided once or twice before they fixed that shit, and it was horrible. By the time you finished buffing, you had to start again, because the buffs were 50% done on the first guy!

    Yeah I cannot imagine raiding with only five minute blessings. I remember waiting for like Amplify Magic in the safe spot before Fankriss and the whole "by the time they finish buffing the first ones are running out" thing. Ugh.

    They should have been reckoning bomb spec and doing pvp back then, like I was! :P

    Actually, I think I was pure ret back then. Not as good one on one as reck, but you could rack up killing blows in AV better.

    Naw, we just specced Prot and snickered at the Holydins. Or we did Tri-spec for Illumination/DF/SoC/HS.

    Didn't do him until after the change. But I believe Chromaggus is a longer fight, and you can't stop to buff during that one.

    The fixed the 5 minute buff deal at least a year before burning crusade.

    Annoying. But by the time the guild I was in got there it was 1.9 and we had greater blessings.

    Very, very glad I never had to deal with that shit when I was raiding pre-bc.

    Hell, I hate paladin buffs NOW. Some asshole is always bitching about his buffs, some paladin isn't buffing at all, Pallypower is bugged, etc etc. Many times I've said "Look the buffs aren't going to make or break the fight. All the dps has salv, and that's all that matters."

    And then I pulled the fucking boss.

    Well, as a ret paladin, buffs are kind of necessary for me. Without wisdom up, my mana is fucked.

    I don't really raid anymore, though, and I never call for buffs before making sure I've done all mine, that'd be rude.

    i'm not a raiding pally, and even I get pissed at the numnah (or is it numbut now?) dps that go apeshit over blessings. Some pug hunter was all pissing and moaning last night to get put in with the feral druid & get wisdom over might last night in gruul so that his dps won't be gimped. He got his wish -- and dumped out 500 dps. It was SO worth it.

    The best is people who bitch about not having full buffs for trash. TRASH. Yes, buff classes should be rebuffing, but it's not going to make or break a trash pack if you don't have AI. The only thing I'll bitch about on trash is Salv and that is a given. I pull aggro enough even with it. ;__;

    I've been playing paladins since open beta and I've never used PallyPower. Remembering which buffs go where seems simple enough.

    Also, page 102. Hmm.

    My favorite pally buff headache? Druids

    Pretty much the only blessing they can agree on is kings (and even that is only if the deathchickens can get salv too).

    Pre-TBC I would laugh when I found an Oomkin in a BG. Wait for moonfire, pop bubble, watch moonfire continue to empty their mana pool and apply hammer to their face while they run around without mana.

    I had one of them go completely oom trying to stop me in wsg with moonfire. They ran out of mana before I ran out of life.

    That said, there were some good balance druids back then, they just wore cloth armor.
