I cant remember the name of his game. i dont know what system it was on, but i know it had tanks, it was a capture the flag type of game, and had fully orchestrated music. it was 2 player and there were 2 bases and the main objective was to shoot through the opponents base, destroy their bunker, and take their flag. the camera view was like gta1 or 2, looking down. my brother thinks the front of the box had an explosion with a tank coming ot of it with a guy with a flag on the top. anyone know what im talking about?

This sounds kind of familiar. Is it a PC game from the early/mid 90's?

Yeah, it sounds like Return Fire. It was on a multitude of systems.

blah, all of those games are derived from "Fire Power" which was an old game I played with my dad on the PC XT we had, it was great, laying mines down near your flag, being attacked by enemy helicopters, trying to find your way through a maze of enemy walls and turrents. Fighting your way to the flag against the other player. all in gloriuos EGA or CGA.

Honestly, I was thinking of how awesome Return Fire was.. they need a *good* sequel or spiritual successor.. something that me and my friend could relive those old days with.

How awesome it was to get money from our parents (begging), rent this game from the videostore (cheering), buy I don't know how many bags of chips and cans of coke (indulging), and staying up really REALLY late (enjoying). Ahh good times.

    Know of anything very similar?

On a related note, what was the name of that old Mac tank warfare game? It was the one where you could lay mines to make rivers, build walls and pillboxes, and harvest trees for more building materials. Also, your builder guy would run out of your tank to build stuff, and if he got killed, you couldn't build until a replacement builder guy parachuted in and ran back to your tank.

It was top-down, it was LAN-multiplayer, and it was awesome.

That game is clearly Bolo. I'm surprised no one got it before me- I remember that game being really popular in my school's computer labs (they only had macs), but I guess mac gamers aren't exactly the biggest demographic.

Oh and the game I was thinking of (I couldn't remember the name) was in fact Fire Power.
