There's a ton of great stuff for the DS. I thought by 'holiday buying guide' the OP was asking for new/recently released games.
Well, because there was such a staggering amount of DS hardware sold last week, I thought there might be some forumers who hadn't gotten one until this point yet. Bargain titles are certainly everywhere if you look hard enough and as you've mentioned a lot are worth playing.

I'm thinking about getting Front Mission now that it's $20. Any good? The fact that it's an SNES port gives me slight misgivings.
Wait, wiat, wait. FM is $20 now? Is that everywhere, or do I have to dig to find it at some Best Buy that hasn't sold every last copy and will never restock?

$20 at Gamestop, at least on the website. I assume that the actual stores will follow suit.

Well, guess I'll be stopping as EBStop on my way home. Wish I could check and see if the one on my route home has it in stock, but I can't use their website from work. Bah.

Incidentally, right now the website lists it as on backorder.

Seriously, Elite Beat Agents. I have put more time into that game than I have any other game in years. It is one of my favorite games ever. I cannot give it enough praise.

Do you need to place an order for it to get that message?

Anyway, I called my place up and they confirmed price and availability.

I played Phantom Hourglass for the first time yesterday, and I love the control scheme. It really makes me anticpate games like Ninja Gaiden.. looks like I will finally be buying a DS soon.
