Bought a HIS x1950 pro. When I tried installing ati drivers for it off of the CD or their website got a message saying that no hardware could be found that supports these drivers. Please help what to do?
Did you get rid of your old drivers? What was your old 3d card? I'm assuming the x1950 is functioning partially, right? Are you getting drivers from HIS or AMD? What OS? etc.
i got xp i had nvidia before but i got driver cleaner from this site http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=745
the card is workin cuz i have it plugged in right now.
i tried to install from cd that came with the card and from the ati site
This is actually the exact same problem I was having with my X800SE.
I got it working by manually installing the drivers through device manager. Select your video adapter in device manager, go to properties, and select update drivers. Then manually point to the drivers .inf file and it should work.
You don't get the fancy Catalyst Control Center by doing this but at least you got the drivers installed and can play some games. I have been talking to Sapphire tech support and they suggest that I reinstall windows. Not bothered enough by the lack of CCC to do that right now, but maybe I'll try it over Christmas to see if it works.
